Ever since I got LG, I've periodically heard her call, gone to see what she wanted, only to find she was sleeping and it wasn't her. I finally figure out it's a Cardinal. We've always had a family living around our house, and they're responsible for the fake wheeks. Part of their song is sweet-sweet-sweet-sweet, right pitch and timing to be my LG, lol. I've been trying to figure out what bird was the piggy bird. Now I know.

When I recorded Missy chirping I swore it was a bird that found its way into the house and not one of the piggies.

Yes I would like to know what that bird is... call us crazy but there's a bird that sounds like a piggy wheeking, even to pigs I think lol. Once I was sitting outside watching Misty, Tallulah and Orla in the run and one of those birds made a sound like a baby pig having its nails cut and all three stood still and wheeked softly back lol.

Catherine87, we kept hearing Little Girl calling, and when I got to her, she was asleep, so I knew it wasn't her. Then I heard her wheek when I was holding her, only she wasn't making the noise. I figured out it was a bird, but I didn't know which bird, as we get many song birds around here. I finally caught the Cardinal singing like a piggy wheeking, on the back porch. I looked up Cardinals in the bird book, and sure enough, part of its song is sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet (wheek, wheek, wheek, wheek). It's at the same pitch and timing as LGs wheeking, and that's what I heard. If I can, I'll record it and try to post it. Usually I hear it when I'm no where near a recorder, lol, and I don't realize it's the bird until I've checked on LG and found it wasn't her. Then I have to give the kids treats, because I entered their room to check on them. By then the bird has stopped or moved on, lol.
