I am not sure whether this is a problem really but thought I would ask people know more by virtue of experience. I recently bought 2 piggys…squiggly and wiggly…. And they are absolutely adorable and very social…. The problem is that they don’t seem to be having water…atleast I have not seem them having it.. I have placed bowls all over the cage…and change them everyone hour or so but they just don’t drink… but they are peeing…. So I kinda felt that they must be getting most of their water from the food they are eating and that would be sufficient enuf for them?

Hi puchoo, welcome to Wheekers and congratulations getting your 2 piggies, I love their names ;D As for the water, do they have a bottle available as well as water bowls? With them being new, they may not be used to using a bowl. Some piggies do drink more than others. Its a good idea to keep both a bottle and a bowl in their cage and as long as they are weeing ok and having moist food like a piece of cucumber as well as their vit c veggies, then they'll be getting enough fluid. One of my piggies, Peachy, only drinks from her water bowl and hardly ever uses a bottle, some of my piggies will use both. Do you have any photo's of squiggly and wiggly, it would be lovely to see them

Dear Clover,
Thanks for the reply. had a feeling that it would be you.... infact i found out about this site through yours....lovely.
Ya i love the names too...i kinda fighured that no matter what we name them...when we walk into the house or see them we are prob going to add a "y" at the end of it... Dever would become Denvy an so on.
Anyway coming back to what u were asking me.... they were not using a bottle at all in the petstore... trhey were using a bowl...but then again i have never seen them drinking from it while they were there also.
To be honest im not too worried...they definetely seem to be getting a decent amount of water into thewir systems keeping in mind how many times i end up changing their bedding:)... but like i wrote earlier i thought i would aks u guys.
Should be able to pictures up by the weekend...waiting for my camera to get repaired...
Thanks a ton!!!

Your very welcome puchoo and its great that they are weeing alot. Its amazing how much wee and poop piggies produce in just one day isn't it ;D An idea is to prehaps give them a bottle anyway, just to see if they learn how to use it. You never know they might enjoy drinking from it. Aww I'll look forward to seeing your piggies and thank you for your compliment about my site.

Welcome Puchoo!
My pigs aren't big drinkers either but like you've found, I know they get enough liquids in their diet from the amount of weeing they do!
I rinse their veggies before I feed them, and give them while they're still wet. It's a good way to up their water intake a bit.
Looking forward to seeing your piggers!

Hi Puchoo! Your new babies are sooo cute! Mine drink from a water bottle in their cage and a dish in the "pigatorium" and they are big drinkers. But the best news is that I've FINALLY found a water bottle that really DOESN'T LEAK! It's from a site called "AgSelect.com" and is the Water Buddy in the 16 ounce size. Honestly everyone- it doesn't leak and it's very easy for them to drink from and I highly recommend it!

I've been quite lucky with my bottles Kitty, but I'll have a good look at the site.
I've bought a new type for Fiver our bunny, as he's very rough with his bottle, he likes to guzzel it down quickly. Its a stronger plastic, I'll take a pic of it soon. My pets like to use a bowl to, but I have to clean them out up to 3 times a day because of stray poops getting in or hay. In Peachys case, wet cardboard or empty toilet rolls, she loves eating wet cardboard ;D
