I went to go pet Sammy a minute ago and he starting rumbling at me (?) He has NEVER ever done this. I am at a complete loss. I touched along his back and stomach and he chuttered. I petted his head and he was okay. I was afraid to pick him up....thinking he may bite. Thats how unusual this is. He has no indication of illness...and he doesnt appear sore anywhere, when I pressed he didnt squeek or act like he was in pain. Wonder whats up with him? Could it be "growing pains" like puberty or whatnot? He is around 6 months old I believe.
Edit....I went back and talked softly to him and picked him up for a cuddle...not one chutter or rumble, now he is completely fine.....even licking me and nibbling!! This all happened in a 10 minute time span!

He seems to be fine...just a weird moment..he has been rumbling a lot at Buddy lately...wonder if he is trying to take the position as Alpha male from Buddy who seems to have it? I dont know I went to give them there nightly veggies and petted him and he did it again....but it doesnt sound like a bad rumble like the ones I here on the samples on websites.....could I be mistaking a purr with a rumble? My babies tend to make this noise just in lighter tones. I guess I am not used to Sammy being vocal. Anyway this time I picked him up anyway just to see and he was fine..maybe I was over reacting...I checked him out ALL over , and nope no signs of illness or pain.

It could be a purr.... or he could be trying to take over *your* alpha position lol

My Squeekie does that all the time samnbud lol. Its a conbination of a rumble and a purr. Its because he's happy. Sometimes if I've been holding one of my girls before him, he can smell their scent and that can get him excited .He isn't called Mr.Rumbles for nothing ;D

I guess when you have never heard this sound then you wonder! LOL they(Sammy and Buddy) have just now started doing popcorns and frolicking! I didnt know he just seemed tense then he let me pick him up no problem so I guess it was a purr

Rocky has also tried to push me out of alpha pig status When he is being bossy with Lucky he then tries to be bossy with me. He rumbles and he smacks me with his nose. I usually kiss his little nose and tell him I'm the one who can open the refrigerator.

LOL....yes Sammy tries to nose-butt my chin so he can snuggle under there more and it puts my head at an awful angle...I kiss his nose and have to slide him down a bit, but his nose-butts can be quite pushy!

No Jake just loves Eastenders . lol
Peachy purr's and does a little chubble at the same time, Sweetpea to. Jasmine and Clover just lie flat out and hardly make a sound. Clover lets me know when she wants a wee, Jasmine just does one ;D
