Purring is normally a good sign. It means the piggie enjoys the petting as well as your company. These purrs seem to last longer. It's also followed by the pig laying down and starting to snuggle. Pigs can also purr during lap time to show annoyance. Such as if you're petting their bum and they're trying to tell you that they're ticklish there or just plain don't like it. These are shorter purrs, and are usually accompanied by wiggling or the piggie trying to itch there. Kind of like a dog thumping it's hind leg if you're scratching a "good spot". Hope this helped.

Mine purr when I rub that special spot that they love and they are happy! It IS a good thing and a sweet sound.

Mine do it all the time, I assume it's annoyance as they are silent whilst doing it so I stop.
