I got a gunea pig from my neighbor. I havent named him yet. Anyway, for bedding they used pieces of carpet. I have no spare carpet so i baught a bag of carefresh. It said 9 dry quarts 10 liters(sp). Anyway.. This was yestersay and already half the bag is gone!! The vage isnt extremely large either. Im scared that I'll have to be spenindg 5.50$ a every 2 weeks. My money suply is low, so I,m really scared. I dont want to give my pig away cuz i love him (or her no idea). But...yeah. How much on average does a 10 lieter(sp) bag of carefresh last? I mean im saving up for a propper cage!!! this ones made out of a no parking sign, some crap wood, and a grilly thing. (they made it not me) SO yeah. HOw long should it be lasting?

Kiln Dried Pine works perfectly fine, I find that CareFRESH is just a ripe-off & tons of $$ down the drain. 10 liters wouldn't even last me a day, neither would 50 liters, since I have a bunch of cages. It takes about two 50 liter bags to fill 2 X 3 C & C cage. You could also use fir & pine like www.mallardcreek.com

I like Carefresh but it is expensive- I go through a whole BIG bag a week. That's almost $20 here. But others on here use all kinds of stuff from just hay to shredded newsprint. Keep reading and I'm sure someone will give you a great idea that's not so $$$.
