Hey guys,
Thanks for your support in all this. I've been watching Lucy's condition and she really does look unhappy. My mum thought she was dying today, but she was just sleeping and breathing harder and shorter than before.
She looked worse this morning, and just as bad tonight. I made the appointment.. I can see she's had enough. I don't think she should go through anything else.
I'll be spending some time with her tonight giving her some of her favourite treats if she'll take them, and just cuddling her for a while.

aL I'm so sorry Lucy's health has deteriorated even more, like everyone I was really hoping the antibiotic would have given her a much needed lift. I know its such a hard decision to make. Has your vet completly ruled out trying Lasix? From what I've read and from what Treen has mentioned there might be some hope that it would work, but I know aL its your decision. Its just a thought but is there another vet you could have a word with, maybe by telephone? I'll be thinking of you both aL

Hang in there ... I know I gave up and hauled Max in only to be sent back home. However, he didn't appear to have any visual fluid buildup ... just his lungs/chest area is always full of fluid. Take care and hugs to all concerned.

aL I'm so very sorry, I wish I could take the heartache away that your feeling. Please try to think of Lucy not suffering now and that she's met up with your darling Minky. They'll be swopping stories and remembering their lovely mum and your other piggies. Your both in my thoughts love Jackie xxx

Thankyou everyone. Its comforting to read these messages. I'm glad Lucy isn't suffering anymore, which is why I made the choice, but I still wish she was here and that I could hold and cuddle her and tell her how sorry I am. She is snuggled in my heart now, where she will never leave.

I have a poem that describes exactly how I feel.
They say memories are golden Well that may be true But I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I've needed you, A million times I've cried. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, No one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Thanks for listening.

That's a lovely poem aL - very fitting for little Lucy. I hope you're okay and that as time goes on you'll remember her happy times and have a little smile for the wonderful pigger that was a big part of your life for such a long time. But it's so hard at first, so just take your time coming to terms with it and remember we're all here for you when you need it.

Awwww Jackie... it's adorable. Thankyou so much. Does anybody know how to make it so I can have it as my avatar? I wouldn't know how to go about it... cropping and resizing I guess?
