[glow=lime,2,300]Well she stitched him way too tight like we thought and the stitches broke open. I feel so bad for him but he looks like hes okay. He is still getting meds and peroxcide on his cut twice a day. We need to take him back it and have her do something to cover the hole. Im thinking maybe they can do what they do to humans and take some extra skin to cover it but i dont know. We'll see. Thank you all so much for being so supportive!
I found a home for my silver agouti. A little boy took him home. His mom has 2 rats and his just died so I gave him my guinea pig. He loves it so much. He plays with it 24/7. He named him Stripes. [/glow]

Good luck at the vet's, hopefully he'll be okay!
The boy's mom is going to be the one to make sure Stripes is cared for, right? I know kids can love their pets a lot, but they do forget things sometimes.

Is there anymore pus coming from the wound? Does he feel happier in himself Annessa?, I really hope so . Maybe you could write a list for the little boys parents to read, so they'll know how to look after him.

How do you know the stitches were too tight? A possible reason for the stitches popping was possibly due to the swelling and infection, not because the stitches were too tight. Also, why is he getting peroxide? It's not really used any more since it can destroy the tissues. If you EVER see any signs of infection or problems (such as you are seeing) you need to take any animal immediately to the vet ... not wait or it can get worse. When was the last time that you had the pig checked by the vet?

Good idea if I were you I would do online research and be your own vet because the one you have really doesn't sound good at all.

skipperdoo... you might want to re read the post because i said that he has been to the vet over 5 times in the last 3 weeks. The vet cut the skin open and cut out some tissue... She pulled the skin so tight that the stitches ripped whenever he moved. Skin may be like elastic but it can only stretch so far!
