For one pig maybe, but not for 2! The run is nice and big but the cage is small for 2 pigs, but seems okay for one. The least I would get for 2 pigs is about 0.60960meters by 1.21920 meters which is about 2feet by 4 feet here.
Or 61cm x 122cm...you had the length about right, but not the width for the hutch.
When you say hutch do you mean the inclosed part, where they sleep? And the run is the area they play in?Or as in the hutch is their cage and the run is the place they go to play? I am a tad bit confused. And they have access to both these areas all the time? If so then it is a pretty good size!!

they have acess to both areas throughout the day and the night, i have 5 pigs in it. they generally just sleep and relax upstairs but recently they have been going up there to get away from coffee cause she hasnt mastered the art of the ramp yet lol.
during the day in nice weather, they go in a run on the grass, it is about the same length as the run but about twice the width.

I really think you need a bit more space. How is the piggies wound?

oh yes, i checked a couple of hours ago, and the scab had come off! there is a bit of flesh about 1cm (1/2 inch) exposed. i cleaned it with a wet tissue and warm water and it doesnt look at all infected so my worry has diminished just a tiny bit.
you want to know how much a larger one is? about £150 round here! my dad is very DIY because he is a builder but he doesnt have enough time on his hands to make another one. there are 3 other kids as well as me in our house so you can imagine how chocablock the schedule is, AND there is only the weekends which he needs to spend with the family and not the pigs. sorry and all that but that is the best we can do.

As long as they get plenty of excersice and attention and no fights break out over space issues I think that you may be able to swing it.

You have five guinea pigs in a total space of 16" x 48"? What ages and sexes are they again?
I have two (three less than you) in a 16" x 45" and Jasmine is the only one in a 24" x 45". Wiilie's is 16" x 36" (base area) and there are four males (one adult and three babies) in a 2 x 4 c 'n c cage ... for now until I find out who will end up living with whom.

I'm not sure since someone else figured it out but she's using the foot symbol and if it is in feet, then 16' x 48' is HUGE. If it's in inches (16" x 48") I think it's too small for five pigs who may not be getting along and getting injured. Can you split them up?

i dont think it would be fair to them, they have always lived in it and are not used to anything else. it is in inches.

I have added the total from the hutch and run.....for you Josie the space would be around 120cmx244cm thats including the hutch and run....which isnt really enough. I understand that you cant make it bigger.
Kathy sorry I meant to put inches and not feet!!
For you Kathy it would be around total for the hutch and run .. 47inx97in Here I broke it down for you! Hutch is 40cmx122cm = 16inx48in (about 5 meters x 15 meters) (about 1 1/2 feet x 4 feet) Run is 80cmx122cm = 31inx48in (about 9 meters x 15 meters) (about 2 1/2 feet x 4 feet) Total of both> 120cmx244cm= 47inx96in (about 14 metersx 30 meters) (about 4feet x 8 feet)
This is saying if they have access to both the run and hutch at all times!

Hi Josie, I'm just reading this thread and I have a couple of questions. Do you have the males and females together? How is your little one with the scab doing?
I hope piggy is doing better.

I too would love an update on the little pig with the scab. Hoping you have found it some treatment. Hate to think of the poor thing suffering with an itchy nasty scab.

Jjanet- they are all girls lol. and yes, fudge is doing fine, the scab fell off on it's own and is healing well. Susie- i dont actually think that she even knew she had it lol. i didnt notice any change in behaviour anyway. Amyfriend2002- quote from my mum: 'pigs are a bit like people, when we get a scab, do we run to the docter? no, thats how it is with them, we are similar in more ways than one.' it isnt something i agree with, but oh well.
everyone who posted suggestions, fudge wheeks you all a thankyou lol.
