I'd also say have them in different rooms, if there's any way you possibly can.

I've read that they can be in the same room.

Different rooms would be better.

If there's absolutely no way you can house them in different rooms, opposite ends of the same room is an option... but it's really better like Jackie says to use different ones for the quarantine to be effective.

Downstairs in out of bounds (dog) mam + dad won't have a pig in there room even for few weeks same with brother Gran lives 2 blocks away but someone would have to take me up everyday to get into her house so they won't consider that option
Currently they are agreed Jack + 2nd pig when get him/her will have opposite end of my room but don't want them getting sick

The only kind of Quarantine I can do, is either have them below my pigs, or above my pigs. I know people that still have them in the same room. I can't have them on opposite sides of my soon, since I need to have room to be in my room too, and my dad & brother don't want them downstairs(annoying brother complained when they were down stairs!)

If the cage is well-secured, I don't see a problem with him being downstairs just for 2 or 3 weeks. You could even put him up on a table. Keeping them in the same room where airborn viruses can float freely around kind of beats the whole point of quarantine. You're doing the right thing getting him a friend. Quarantine certainly isn't fun, but you'll only have to deal with it for 3 weeks at the most if he's healthy and it'll all be worth it when they're living happily together.

I agree with Merry, downstairs should be an option - what is the dog like?
Don't you see casper, that's really not quaratine at all.
