Today, Zippy was more quiet than usual, since he earned his name by not being quiet. I got him out for snugs and snacks, and all he did was lie in the cuddle cup (courtesy of Auntie Angel). I petted him. He ate his piece of carrot top, then just lay in the cuddle cup. I picked him up, and he was limp. He lay on my shoulder where I put him, and didn't even try to eat my clothes. I got a syringe with water in it, and gave him that. He seemed to perk up. They were out of water when I went in to check, and I refilled all four water bottles. Maybe he didn't get to drink enough before I came back to pick him up. They had a lot of veggies, today, so they weren't dehydrated. I also felt a bony lump on his chest. I haven't felt that before. He's moving around, now. He's had some carrot pieces, and talked to the girls. I don't know what happened. He scared the stuffing out of me, that's for sure. I haven't picked him up since I put him back in the cage. I'll have hub feel for the bony lump, when he comes up. Any ideas? ?

Thank you Kaylinscavies. He's been acting fine since I put him back in the cage. Hub was no help. He's not great with animals.
I remembered that this happened once before. I was taking Zippy and Dallas to the vet, and I got some Timothy cubes for them to chew on the way. I was about half way to the vet when I noticed Zippy looked dead, and Dallas was acting very upset. I pulled over and stopped the car, opened the carrier, and all these little flies were coming out of the timothy cubes. The carrier was full of them. I took the pigs out and held them the rest of the way to the vet (I know it's not good to drive while holding piggies). Shortly after I got to the vet, and after they'd been out of the carrier for about 10 minutes, Zippy seemed to come back to life. But he gave me an incredible scare in the process. The vet techs cleaned the carrier for me, and put a towel in for the boys to have a soft ride home.

That was scary!!
I would take Zippy to the vet. You have a great vet's office, so they will help. Could be an abscess, a hair follicle that has gone haywire, you name it. Best to have them look at it. Good luck at the vet!!!

It could be something with the heart maybe. If so they can treat him with medications. Vet is the best I would say like Andrea and KJ said.

Oh poor Zippy and you. Yikes, you sure have had a few terrible scares with him. Hopefully it will be nothing...but like everyone said if you have a good vet that is always I think the best way to calm your fears. Good luck, give Zippy snuggles from all of us and let us know how he is. Also, you may want to remind him that just because it is getting close to Halloween, that does not give him an excuse to scare you. Tight Hugs!!

Thanks for all the support. It was scary. I know my piggies, and I know when they just aren't themselves. This was such a non-Zippy incident, that I really thought he was dead. I will call the vet on Monday, and get Zip checked out, just in case. Dallas did that to me a few times, but he was sleeping like the dead. It was just as scary, even if he wasn't too happy with me waking him up. lol.
Everything seems to be fine, now. I'll tell him what you said, Lee Anne, in case he's got any more ideas, lol.
