Little Girl (Harlequin), has a lump in her mammary area. it's not tere all the time. It was yesterday during bath time, but neither the vet nor I could find it today. He did feel nodules on one mammary gland, and she has lost 50gs. She was admitted for the night so he can sedate her and really check the area, do blood work, etc. She's had one mammary area cyst removed already, about a year ago. This may be a new one forming but not quite there yet. The vet should know more after he really checks her thoroughly. Of course, I'm worried, more that she'll be unhappy than that the vet won't be able to help her. Zippy and Momma went to the vet with her, so she had company until it was time to go to her cage. I'll know more tomorrow afternoon.

Oh dear, sounds like you've got it under control with the vet visit and caught it early. Good luck and get well soon Harlequin.

Little Girl's coming home in about half an hour. I haven't talked to the doctor, yet, but I know he removed two masses, but didn't have to remove the whole mammary set up. I'll post more once I've talked to the doctor, but she's doing fine. I can't wait to get her back home. Thanks all of you for your concerns and sweet comments.

No Little Girl. The office manager called after we were almost at the vet's, and said he had an emergency surgery, and couldn't release her. He has to go over the issues with me before he lets her go, so she's staying over until tomorrow morning, and I won't know more until then.
The emergency surgery isn't on Little Girl, but another pet. Sorry if I confused anyone.

Oh, poor Harlequin, and poor you! I'm glad the vet was able to find out what was wrong and correct the problem. All the best for her homecoming and complete recovery. Stay well, Little Girl!

Little Girl is home. She's shaved except for her head, and the vet tech called her my lion piggy, as it looks like a mane. She had two masses removed, and has two incisions needing to heal. She's in the upper level of the cage, and Zippy and Momma are in the lower level. I removed the ramp so she can be alone and heal.
The doctor doesn't know if the lumps are cancerous, but will do the pathology to try and determine that without sending out the lumps at an additional $300+. I don't know what the surgery cost, but it around $900. The doctor said he got everything there was to get, but this is three lumps removed in about a year, so I have to monitor her very carefully.
She was so happy to see me, it was heartwarming. She looked up from her cuddle cup like "mommy, you came back for me." The vet tech was holding her in the cuddle cup, and she was trying to get to me, so I took her, cuddle cup and all.
She has pain meds for the next seven days, and a follow up visit next Thursday. Hopefully the pathology will be known by then, and it won't be cancer.
My baby's home, happy and singing. She got to nose Zippy and Momma through the cage bars before going to her private loft space, as I removed the ramp so she could be alone. I'm sure she'd like to be with Momma and Zippy, but she has to heel up before she can play.
Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I really needed them.

It's been snowing all day, so all three piggies have slept most of the day. Little Girl comes out to wheek for snack with the others. Her voice sounds better today. Yesterday, her beautiful singing voice was hoarse and croaky. I gave her her pain meds this morning, wasting two syringes by squirting the first one into the air thinking it was stuck, lol. At least she got hers. I'll get another one from the vet if she needs it. Daughter started singing "in the jungle, the mighty jungle" to her, this afternoon. I told daughter just because little girl was shaved to look like a lion didn't mean she could be made fun of, lol. Poor little thing looks so pityful, although she's doing really well.

Aw bless her heart! Your daughter sounds adorable! Gosh Mom, her singing voice must be so soothing to Little Girl! And you can admit it too Mom, I bet you were singing right along with her! Very cute!
