Someone who has chosen (in their settings) not to have their name displayed when they're online (on the front page and also by their name on their posts and profile). It just means other people can't see them when they're online (though they can still post as normal etc).
One reason for this might be that you're embarrassed to be seen at Wheekers lol. Not many people seem to choose it and I think it is nice to be able to see who's on.
Staff can still see everyone though!

Invisible user is anyone. You can even be one if you'd like.  That was me, so I dont get flamed by some users! Not sure what this means ... a flame on a forum usually means a post that is meant to incite anger. I would have said it's so people don't get bombarded? This is true in your case so be prepared for MAJOR bombardment the next time that you are on. |

Another reason that people may choose to be invisible so they can lurk and not let others on the board know that they are there ... for whatever reason. For example, perhaps it's not a forum that the person normally posts on or the person is just there to get info. Or as Alix, has indicated, one may have "star" status and be trying to avoid the paparazzi and being bombarded by fans. As for flames, I haven't seen any flame wars for ages and they were on another forum (GPDD). One could start a flame war whether a person is visible or not. |
