Hi Clover! I saw my girls on your website-thanks! Does your daughter ride at all? I love it. I grew up on a farm with 5 horses and hadn't been on horsesback for a long time until a trip to Colorado convinced my husband that he was too old to carry around a 40lb. backpack anymore. His solution was horsepacking! He had NEVER been on a horse so it was fun to begin lessons with him. Now we ride often and are about to go to Arizona to the Grand Canyon and then riding-can't wait! Hope all is well with you!

Both my girls used to ride Beth, I'm afraid the lessons were getting very expensive though. But I know Jenna wants her own horse when she leaves school as she adores them ;D She will need to learn to drive a car first etc, but hopefully she will be able to keep her own horse at a local stable when she's working. Meanwhile she might do some work at a stables in return for free lessons and a stable managment course. My other daughter Kathy might want to do that in the future to, at the moment she might be able to work for a donkey sanctuary. Aww what a childhood you must have had growing up with horses Oh it will be wonderful going to the Grand Canyon and its a lovely hobby both you and your husband can share isn't it . I hope you manage to take lots of photo's I have a few photo's of my girls on horseback, I'll try and find them and post them ;D

Clover, We ride at a county park so it's not so expensive. I COULD work there and actually get paid, but I just volunteer instead which is the same difference WITHOUT pay! I don't know if you have park systems like that but our city in particular has a FABULOUS system of WONDERFUL parks. The one I'm at has the only horse stables but they are good. I'm sending the photo ( well, I'm gonna TRY!) of me on my favorite horse GreenBay, that apparently didn't get through before. NOW you can see my fat behind on the poor critter and maybe it will inspire you too to climb aboard one! I also help run a Special Rider program for handicapped people. Just being around the g horses is very theraputic, as we all know from our furry pigs. Working with the little donkeys should be a great experience too. Love to you and yours...xoxoxo

Oh its good of you to be a volunteer Beth One stables I rang for my daughter Kathy who wanted to do volunteer work wanted her to pay £80.00 to do the stable managment course, isn't that cheeky considering Kathy offered to be a volunteer. Some stable are very money minded. Anyway fingers crossed the donkey sanctuary will work out for her. They also help handicapped children by giving them donkey rides. Oh I'd best loose a few pounds before I sit on a poor horse lol
