*sings* 'It's my bithday! Happy Birthday!- - Got a new wheel and I'm one now!' 'What are you looking at? You never seen a hamster dance before?' 'By the way, thanks for my wheel. I promise not to eat this one. All at once, anyway.' *snickers*

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Foster is a poser, though- so I can take little credit. He never takes a bad picture. And yes- Foster eats everything. He's the only hamster I've ever had with a plastic habit. Some nibble a bit, but he take out entire pieces over night- example-

Wow! That hammie can chew! Do you ever give them meal worms? It was all my hammies favorite food. Love the photo of him in the new unscathed wheel!

Aww, he's adorable. My gerbil was the same way for chewing things lol. One morning she managed to get out of the cage. I was just waking up when I heard a rustling under my bed and then saw something brown scamper away out of the corner of my eye. She nearly gave me a heart attack!

I've also had a chewy-hamster experience lol I used to have a hamster called Josie; my mum used looked after her and the pigs with me. One time she got out (I can't remember how) and we looked everywhere we could think of but we couldn't find her. I think she was missing for about four days, I was really upset because I thought she was gone for good. Then one night my dad was sitting on the sofa watching tv and he felt something moving under him, so he looked and found a hole in the back of the sofa. Josie had chewed her way right in and made a nest in the cosy, warm middle of the sofa cushions We dug her out, and she lived another three years or so - she was five when she died. The sofa wasn't so lucky though, it was on a skip a few weeks later

You were all so kind to wish Foster a happy birthday- I thought I would let you know-
I found Foster dead in his cage last night. He was heavy and round- so seems like his plastic eating finally caused a blockage. He was just fine yesterday morning though perhaps feeling a little pudgy- but I didn't make the connection- just thought he was putting on a little weight. He was laying quite peacefully- and looked very beautiful- as if he was just sleeping. He was a very special and sweet little guy- I miss him terribly.
