We have two class gerbils in our class, Honeypaw, and Greg. We all thought they were both boys, until yesterday. Turns out that Greg is a girl So yesterday during our Christmas concert, some kids went back to the class to see our teacher, and then Honeypaw bit this girl really hard, and then we checked to see if anything was wrong (Honeypaw NEVER bites). Turns out he was protecting 6 new born babies ;D So we took Honeypaw out, and let Gregina be alone with the babies. I'll see if I can take some pix tomorrow, then I'll put them here

I always wanted a gerbil and almost got a chance a couple of months ago but it never happened. In my state (California) they are illegal since people are afraid that they will escape and eat all of the crops. Hope you get to take some photos.

Do you know what your school is planning to do with the babies? If they leave the male and the female together, they could end up with a lot more to have to find homes for - Greg could already be pregnant again now.
It sure sounds like a neat experience though!

Well the gerbils are accualy the teacher's daughter's . So she is going to give them away. Some of the people in our class are asking thier parents. He is going to sell them in pairs. Couldn't get any pix, but I will when they get fur and stuff

As long as your classmates do their research on gerbil care before they bring them home, that sounds like a good idea. Glad they are separated now and I hope Mom and babies are still doing well.

Sounds exciting I'd love to get a gerbil or two, but they don't have the milky colored ones here. Hope to see pics soon.

Gerbils are lovely Maybe your teacher could do a care sheet for all the new owners of the babies.

Ok so we came back to school yesterday, and the babies are sooo cute! Now they have fur and everything and their eyes are open! They are running around!
There are 2 Honeypaw coloured ones (Cream with white), 2 Gregina ones (The normal brown agouti), and 2 white ones!
