Our bunny Fiver is eating about a bowl and a half of his bunny basic T pellets. Incase your wondering why he eats a lot of pellets, Fiver has never eaten hay from being a baby. He will eat a tiny amount, but not enough so he has to have unlimited high fibre pellets to keep his back molars worn down and also keep his tum in good order. Thankfully he's not gaining too much weight, even though he's costing me a fortune in Oxbow's bunny basic T lol. He hasn't needed a tooth operation for nearly two years so he's doing really well. He can't eat much veg at all because his tum is easily upset, even a tiny amount can upset his tum. He can have a piece of carrot though and ocassionally a small piece of broccoli. Anyway here is the greedy little fella ;D Fiver again and our other bunny Thumper with his ration of half a bowl of pellets. Thumper is prone to weight gain, so he has to be restricted, but he does eat more veg than Fiver because his tum is always perfect. Both boys are now 3 and half years old.

Aww cute, they are such lovely big boys!
I'm so glad you've found a solution to keep Fiver's teeth and tum healthy, with him not eating hay. I like his bowl!
Do they chew the nets?!

Cute and healthy looking! Tyler would be envious of the pellet rations ... he only gets a 1/8 cup per day. Have you tried putting some chew items out for him so he can wear his teeth down that way also? I have used untreated willow baskets and Supe Pet's fiddlesticks and various wooden toys that are made for rabbits. Nice photos.

What great photos Clover I see that Thumper has done well maintaining his weight. (I need someone to limit my pellet intake ) The first photo of Fiver is precious. Is he asking you for a snack?

Thank you every one. Yes they are indoor bunnies anna, we can't leave them to roam though so when they are free range they are supervised otherwise they'd sculpture our furniture into a new shape lol They don't nibble on the nets Treen, but they've learn't to put their head under them to look out the windows Yes Janet Fiver is begging, he is often being nosy too on his hind legs. I'll try and take a movie of him doing it one day. I'm afraid Fiver won't chew any shop bought chewy things Kathy, I've tried so many things but he just ignores them. He likes nibbling on plain cardboard but that is it. He's very fond of skirting boards though lol As long as he's not getting overweight I'm happy for him to eat lots of pellets. Thumper is such a big rabbit, bigger than the average cat so he does need quite a few pellets but if I see he's gaining weight I do cut them back. Its nail cutting time today, that will be fun. With Thumper we have to get him to really relax, I stroke him and distract him while hubby does his nails.

Thank you Kitty I did the piggies nails yesterday too anna, I'm a nervous wreak after I've finished, thankfully it all went ok. Still a few nails of Thumpers to do, we just try and do a little and often. Yes they are toilet trained and wee and poop in the same area when they are out. They are so clean, I have to add a few woodshavings to their urine rivers incase they overflow lol. Being such large bunnies, well I bet you can imagine what they produce. They are really clean bunnies though
