The 3Piggles had an outting in the backyard of the condo, today. They spent about an hour in a temporary run, munching until they were full and exhausted. Even the sounds of airplanes and helicopters flying overhead didn't slow their grazing. I made a little slideshow from the pigtures. Enjoy!!

Oh fantastic! I knew you lived in a condo but always thought that you had no access to fresh lawn. How wonderful that you do! Was this the pigs first outing? Looks like they thoroughly enjoyed it! Nice set up too btw....easy and portable!

Yes, Val, it was there first time out in a run. I've had them outside in their basket, just for some fresh air, but not in a run. I meant to get them outside this spring, before it got hot, but every time I had a chance to take them out, the landscapers put some chemical on the grass so I couldn't. It took hub forever to hook up the hose so I could blast off the grass, and by then, first we had a heat wave, and then it started raining and didn't stop. Poor kids, lol, I've been promising an outting for months, and they finally got it. So far I can get the movement or the font, but not everything. Still working on it, lol.

Thanks, Lesa, they had a fabulous time. I don't know if anyone was home in the other condos to see me out there sitting with my kids, lol. We have communal laws around all the buildings, with paved parking in front. We even have some garden areas we can use, but not to plant piggy veggies, lol. Too bad. They could have had a wallow in the veggy patch.
I got the Hollywood to work right, Val. Now I have to get the size and color working again. I'll be practicing, so expect to see a lot of text floating past as you read it, lol.

OK, Laurie you keep practicing. It's fun watching!just remember that all the commands like this...[command] must be in front of your typed words and the command with the back slash...[/command] must be after your typed words. In other words your typed word must be in between your commands. You can have several different commands with each sentence, like color, font, bold, size, move...etc. Oh I might add that when you see this symbol= that is where you type the command for example lets say [ size=2] [ /size] if I want to change the size of the font I would backspace out the number 2 and type in 5 for a much larger size font. Hope that makes sense? ~~Edit~~ Laurie I posted further instructions for you back in your 'Fancy Text' thread so that this thread does not go off topic. Hope it helps you.

Awww....they look like they are having such a great time! The kids are all adorable as always!
I love the pigtures too where they are all tired out from all the grazing! ;D
I bet if your neighbors did see you they were wondering what the heck you had outside with you.
Here not alot of people have piggies so when I had some of the boys outside the neighbors asked me what they were..
If you would- please email me copies of the individual pigtures, I can't copy them from the slideshow and I would like to put some of them on their "wall of fame" in the *piggie room*.
Hugs!

I'll mail them to you so you can hang them, Lee Anne. Let me know if you want them all or just some of them.
I'm hoping a few more outtings and they won't think of the carrier as a trip to the vet. I have my run stuff all together, so it won't take any time to get it set up and full of piggies. The lawns are nice, here, so the kids can graze their little hearts out. We even have trees, so if it's too sunny, we can sit in the shade.

Anytime you take pigtures of the kids I would love if you emailed me copies that way they can not only be interchanged on their *wall of fame* but I can make an album of them as well. ;D
Yes, I know Auntie Lee Anne is greedy... Just tell Momma, LG, & Zippy to stop being so cute and I won't keep bugging you for copies of their pigtures.

Look at that lush green lawn! They sure are some lucky little piggies. It makes a piggy mom happy to see her little ones enjoying themselves. Have you had any problems with birds swooping down on them? We have huge crows in San Diego that ruin our outdoor fun.

It really does make me happy to see them happy. We just got the lawn mowed, and it's not too hot, so I hope to take them out for a while again, this afternoon.
Janet, the way it's been raining here we're lucky the lawn hasn't washed away, and that's it's growing like crazy.

Outting number two today. We were outside for another hour. This time the kids went right to work grazing, no time wasted to figure out what was happening. The man who lives kitty corner to us across the lawn came by with his yellow lab puppy, who was facinated with the piggies. She immediately went into a point with her nose to the cage. She was so cute. She also wasn't about to continue on her walk as long as there were other animals there to keep her interest. Poor guy was doing everything to get her to continue the walk. Finally a girl in a nearby unit came out with her bike, and the puppy was off to see what the girl was up to. The kids were a little concerned when the puppy first arrived, but that lasted a whole 30 seconds before they were back to their grazing. I think these outtings are a success.

What a great Mom to make sure your piggies are out and about. I'm sure the piggies made that puppy's day. Can you imagine how exciting that must have been to find little furry creatures? Life through the eyes of a pup

I had to depoo the cage when I brought the kids in from their outting, so I put them on the floor while I cleaned the cage. They're free-range, so they can go in and out as they please. I went in later to check on them, and couldn't find them. They all went under their favorite chair and fell asleep. I was looking in all the houses, and they were behind me on the floor, wondering what I was doing.
Since I had a wet spot in the bedding, I rearragned the houses and took out the fleece so it could dry. I draped the fleece over the ramp to the second level, forming a tent. That was the first thing the kids found when they went back in the cage, and when I went in to put them to bed, they were all in the fleece tent playing, talking and carrying on. So much for putting it back down in a pile for them to play in. They're having just as much fun where it is.

Stacy, it was their second outing in the backyard, but the first time I hung the fleece over the second level ramp and made a tent. Yes, they loved both, the outings and the tent. Outing number three brought out some of the neighborhood girls, who ooh'd and ah'd over the kids. One little girl wanted to pick up the piggies, but I explained that, if she lost the piggy, I couldn't catch the piggy outside. Good excuse to not let them hold piggies. Today was a new outing, in the dandelion patch at the side of the house. It's cooled down enough to open windows again, and when I was opening the side window, I noticed lots of small dandelions growing on the side lawn. So today they got to graze the dandies. A good time was had by all, and this time they moved around the pen a lot more, and talked to each other quite a bit. Too bad winter will come and end their outings, but for now, we'll do it every day that the weather is good. I took some pigtures of their outing in the dandelion patch. Enjoy!
