That is a good one and it would be a total waste not to teach your daughter your striking photo posing stance! Does she have a hat?!

Here's a little preview of something I'll soon post in the video thread- the Ghost Town of Cisco, Utah!

I love the store. When you're walking around, is it easy to imagine people living there or is it too run down?

Cool! Our only ghost towns are underwater, created by flood control projects or dams to create enough water to run power plants. It's so cool to see these in the dry areas of the country, still standing and fairly well preserved!

Are the ghost towns the old western ones Piggles love? They have always fascinated me. I bet you can soak up the atmosphere there Bazookagoof sweetie.

I love the store. When you're walking around, is it easy to imagine people living there or is it too run down? I think a handful of people were still living there when we arrived in 2012. A few houses looked locked up, and one house had a satellite dish that looked relatively new! (you can see it in the video) I was reluctant to kick in any doors- it wouldn't have been proper, especially if people were still there! Most of the place looked absolutely deserted, though. Jo, if you're looking for old Western towns, I have something else I can post in a little bit.

Jo, the old western ghosts towns in movies and TV shows were usually sets on movie lots, and not even in the old west There were some real ghost towns used, but probably in California, again not in the old west. We had a TV show called The Andy Griffith Show, which was supposed to be in the US south east. External shots of buildings may have been in a southern town, but inside shots were on a movie lot, and the lake where they used to go fishing is in downtown L.A. When my sister and BiL moved to Colorado Spring, Colorado, he bought a big, 4x4 to take out into the wilds looking for ghost towns. Not sure if he ever went or ever found any.

Thank you for that Bazookagoof love, I have just watched the video of the ghost town and even though it was on film, I could feel the atmosphere of the place. I wonder how many of these places do have real ghosts, I love anything to do with ghosties LOL!! Thank you for explaining that piggles love, when I come to think of it yes, they were film sets but some were pretty convincing. I remember watching a film called "Tumbleweed" and that captured the atmosphere of a ghost town with the tumbleweed blowing about. Thank you both for your kind replies and info.

I've never liked Tumbleweed, not that we have it in this part of the country. It was always blowing around ghost towns in movies and TV shows, and maybe that makes them seem creepy.

In one of my videos I managed to capture a tumbleweed blowing down the road (I'll post it soon) but in the meantime here's a preview of another type of old town: (It's not a "real" town, but it's definitely open to tourists.)

I was just reading the sign of the building behind, and initially thought it said 'Bad Cage Room' rather than 'Baggage Room' - was wondering what could have been done in there!
What sorts of places has your daughter enjoyed exploring most over your trips?
