You have to be voted in by either Treen or Clover first. And then seconded by the rest of us. Of course a good knowledge of guinea pig ownership helps as well as helping around the other parts of the forum is good also. Mweekie!

You don't ask at all, just get your self fully established around the forum and help advise people who are having problems/queries etc and if the admins (Treen and Clover) think you are good enough then they will make a suggestion in a secret thread of ours and we shall see if we want you on the team or not. Mweekie!

Helping a person does not make you a mod. Like what Laurie said just let the site admins pick who will be the next mod.
I have been around a long time and the did not pick me. It is what they feel how well you do for wheekers.

I've closed the poll as it's not exactly relevant to the subject, and this forum is specifically for questions and info about the forum, not guinea pig chat.
It's great that you already like the forum enough to want to be a mod here, guineapigs101! Mods are generally long standing members who are both helpful on the forums, and who we feel will help run the forum in a smooth and calm fashion (that's probably the most important bit!). Just because a member isn't selected to be a mod doesn't mean they're not as valuable a member, and many people prefer to be regular members as it means you can enjoy the forum in a carefree fashion rather than having lists of duties and demands thrust upon you!

Mods have to spend lots of extra time taking care of things behind the scenes so a forum runs smooth for everyone. Spammers, trolls, moving posts out of place, dealing with tough issues among forum members, etc, etc.. as part of the team of mods. Wheekers has a great team of mods, we just see a smooth forum.
