I got the Ritz part, but don't know what kind of bird that is. I'll try to look it up.

Walked one day, then not the next three. Right now it's the roads are dry, and we did a little walking, but I wasn't really dressed for it. I think Saturday is going to be a good walking day, but we seem to have rain or snow or both every other day.
Yes, Mrs. B is Anna. I forget you're not used to our names. The pain will only get worse. Her hips and knees need to be replaced, so good weather is the only break she gets. The hot tub helps, but I don't know if winter is hot tub time over there. It definitely isn't over here.

Mrs. B reported the pain from her lipoedema and bad hips and knees has stopped hurting for the first time since before Christmas. She has pain killers, but they weren't making a dent in the pain. On a far lesser scale, all this cold and rain has my joints acting up, too. Hub and I are a great pair helping each other off the couch. We have a warmer week, if not a drier one. I walked outside today, for the first time since all the snow and wind started.

So restful he was bored It is just plain cold. It was 5F when I got up at 5 a.m. It's 22F with a windchill factor of 16F. At least it's above 0. I really can't complain. The Kansas City Chiefs played their last game at -27F. They did act as if it cold at all, but as soon as a player came off the field, someone covered him in a warm jacket. The Chiefs are playing the Bills in Buffalo, NY, which is on Lake Erie where it meets the Niagara River. They get lake-effect snows that blow in from the lake and cover them in feet of snow. The game the Bills were suppose to play in Buffalo kept getting postponed because no one could see where they were going through the blowing snow. When the wind/snow finally stopped, they paid people $20/hr. to shovel out the stadium. Fans were tossing snow like confetti every time their team did well. They had people plowing the parking lots, but not clearing snow from the seats in the stadium-5-6' of snow. People turned out by the hundreds to shovel. As of yesterday, over a week since the storm started, the news reports said they were almost done removing the snow. We haven't had anything like that since the Blizzard of '78, and then we didn't have wind-driven snow. I'll settle for what I've got because it could be SO much worse!

I was trying to rhyme parrot with something, and couldn't. I've been working on it. Did you just look at it and get it? I was nowhere near getting it

It snowed all day today, but we only have a dusting. The major storm missed us completely.

I've been considering it. I checked the cyst last night, and it dried up again. I'm watching it closely, and if it fills one more time, I'm going to call the emergency vet where we used to live, and call it an emergency. I just hope they have a cavy savvy vet.

Did you get any snow. We've got a solid 3". Vic just came in from clearing that. At least it's light, fluffy snow!

Woke up to blood spatter all over the cage. The abscess seal itself off, developed another abscess, and that burst night before last. We changed the bedding today, and I found the spatter inside both houses. I think I have it all, now, but that means we're back to cleaning and disinfecting the wound. Pip's not going to be happy about that. We'll do a buddy bath tonight, clean out the would as much as possible, and disinfect it. Here we go, again.

Unless it's changed a lot, the colleges want to meet each applicant individually, so everyone has to an appointment with admissions.

I called the rescue Danny takes all her animals to, and they had a 6-wk wait. Danny said her vet tried to get one of her emergency cases taken, and no vet could fit him in. He died, which really upset her and her vet. The other thing is Danny's vet is in Dover, which is over and hours from here. I called 13 vets, all recommended by the last vet I called, and some of the vets were in Massachusetts. No luck It's particularly scary as the girls get older. The vet I took Oodles to didn't really know anything about guinea pigs. Oodles had a UTI, and didn't get any help until it was too late I can have pigs, but I don't want to put them through that, if they get sick, going to a vet who doesn't know guinea pigs. That's not fair to the guinea pigs. Oodles suffered needlessly. I wasn't allowed in the exam room because of the pandemic, and a dog got hit by a car and it was all vets on the dog case. We sat in the car in the parking lot for over and hour before the checked her in, and over 3 hours while she apparently was along in the exam room while the vet helped with the dog. Not a good situation. Several of the vets suggested Weare Animal Hospital. Every pet I ever took there died. They wouldn't keep Momma overnight, despite me saying I couldn't give her the sub!Q fluids she needed. I hade braces on both my wrists, which they ignored. They told me to find someone to do it. I couldn't, and Momma died This is not a good place for guinea pigs

I only got the parrot on the carrot. I couldn't think of a bird the sounded like sleigh, or that sounded like spool. They may not be in my area. A lot of birds aren't.

It is, but the availability of vets is really concerning me. I shouldn't have to pay emergency vet prices, but guinea pigs aren't popular here, the way they are in other states, and to have to drive over an hour, or go to Boston to get a vet, really concerns me. I don't know if I'll get more pigs after these girls, and I'm not ready to go pigless.
