That picture is adorable!!! The boys look so natural as Village People, lol!!! Too bad about Mr. Hormones. I hope that gets sorted. I had a biter pig, and it was hard to deal with and painful. Loved him to pieces, but OUCH!

I think agoutis in the small-furry world are the same as tortoiseshell/calico in the cat world - they're the ones who got all the mischief when it was being handed out! My agouti pig Winnie is definitely like that, and my mum's tortoiseshell cat Taz is too - they both have that look in their eye that seems to indicate that they're wondering what they can do next that they shouldn't!

Lol So just casually coming home with them wouldn't work? ;P Also, ratties need ratty company, so two would be your best bet. Well....no real updates, I don't think...Cody and Chucky are both still alive, but I honestly don't know how much they have left. ;( Not long.... Pregnant neighbors cat(Hypo) had her kittens; luckily after the neighbors came home! One came visiting last night; so I had a lovely cuddle with him before returning him; they weren't sure how he got out though! Also. *cough* No newbies....yet....Well. Rat escapes. Rat gets found. Owner discovered one morning that Rat met someone while on the run...result, 11 half wild babies. The Rescue took them in to raise them for her, as she wasn't that comfortable with raising babies; I think she was planning to take mum and one daughter back, but I don't know what's happening there; I just know she isn't taking a girl anymore. She may have decided halfies were too much for her, and I don't blame her. Anyway, the lovely foster mum is actually getting more and more allergic to boys, plus she already had a couple of sanctuary halfies from a couple of years ago; they are trouble, so she was finding it hard to rehome them. She could not keep them, no other foster homes could take on the whole lot, so she was facing a difficult decision. Well, heck. What could I do?? So yeah. I was the only person willing to take girls, so I'm taking two and she is keeping the other two; luckily, all boys have now found homes. I would have liked boys, but girls are probably easier for me anyway. So...they arrive near the end of the month; just after my birthday, actually! I'm excited, and a little apprehensive; they've already shown they're expert escape artists(like all halfies) so I'm going over my girls cage with a fine tooth comb! So yeah. That's me and mine! Quick piggie update, since I'm too lazy to find their thread...well, no real update. Had an outbreak of mites a few weeks ago, which has now cleared up; thankfully! Babies are ginormous; especially Henry, who's now as big as his uncle Badger!

Anaira, you are the rodent worlds best friend! Lucky ratties!!! Glad the piggy world is doing well at your place, too!
Jo, maybe Paul isn't a rat fan. They also take a different type of cage, so he may not want to start over again after doing piggies. My hub would never even consider ratties, ferrets or sugar gliders, as they remind him too much of something wild that he wants outside the house.

Paul does love ratties 3piggles hun, but he just thinks we have too many which, I suppose, is true at the moment. We could never be without guinea pigs or bunnies so we will just see what the future holds.

Oh please. Show him my thread! Maybe then he'll feel better about your numbers? ;P Although, at this stage, no one is getting pets because they want them. I would love chins, and birds would be cool, too. Mum would like fish...but, unless they're either dumped on us, or they desperately need homes, we won't be looking for any.

Yes I will do that Anaria and show him your thread. We are the same at the moment. We have just taken on a litle pussy cat who looks starving and as you say, unless a little one is needing help we are not looking for any more at the moment, mores the pity. Hugs

Halfies are here. =D They are....fast! lol. Haven't had much to do with them, yet; they're stressed out(being half wilds, they're much more nervy, and tense) so I've just covered their cage with a towel, and left them. The challenge has begun!

Pictures?? ;D
I had a dream the other night that when I opened my rat cage to get the girls out, there were 2 wild males that had sneaked into the cage - bizarre!

Once they settle(and I can steal my sister's camera; still have not gotten my camera back from my bro!) I'll take some pictures. =D But I've already done intros with my girls; being around the bigger girls calmed them down a lot, and the big girls seemed happy for them to move in the big cage. Woke up this morning to a Rody igloo stuffed full of girls!
It will take them a couple of weeks to get used to me, but when they do, I will be their one and only human. Halfies tend to trust only one or two people, and that's it. They don't cope with change terribly well, so it will take them that long to settle in! They've followed their big sisters' lead, and licked my hand a few times(my girls are the biggest lickers ever!) but I haven't picked them up yet; they don't want that! To move them into the big cage, I had to unhook their cube, and carry that over into the big cage with them in it. Time for some force bonding later today, I think!
And that sounds like a nightmare, Lonestar. ;P I've had a few dreams where the girls have met my boys(and had babies, and things go horribly wrong with them) and I always wake up at the point of rushing my girls off for e-spays!
Forgot to mention; Dodger has been more or less behaving himself; no mention-worthy bites, but he has developed a resp, just as I have cash to neuter him. ;( Somehow I feel that was planned...however, as soon as it clears up, he will be going in! He did however, completely disgrace me at the vets; he was fine all the way in, but I think the dog smell in the waiting room upset him, as he started to chomp on my fingers. Not easy telling people what great pets they are, and how misrepresented they are, with your little darling biting you! Then, thoroughly upset, he refused to allow poor Louise to examine him; she tried dangling the stethoscope up against him, to listen that way, and he attacked that, too. ;P This, after the very last time I saw her, she told me and the vet nurses about how my rats had changed her mind about rats(she used to hate them, and still hates wildies 'cos they once ate her birds). Because my rats are so friendly. ;P Oh, Dodger!
Originally, I had planned to have his bro Ollie done at the same time...but then I started getting a bad feeling, like I shouldn't. Last two times I ignored a feeling like this(because there was nothing solid to back it up) two rats ended up dead. So, I think Ira will be going in with Dodge, instead. Then the other two can be done together when I have funds for that, and hopefully at some stage I can have one big cage.
However, at the start of the week, I found a lump on Ollie. He's since started sounding respy, and isn't looking well at all. I'm hoping it's just an abscess, plus a coincidental resp, but I'm worried about tumors, and more tumors inside him, and...yeah. Well, at least I know my instinct that something was wrong, was right. ;( Sorry, long post!

I'm sure you'll do a great job getting the halfies to trust you. I hope the neutering goes well and that Ollie's lump isn't anything major.

Sounds as if you have a lot happening right now. I hope Ollies lump is nothing serious, and know you will worry until you know for sure. What is a resp? I don't want to assume anything, and haven't heard that term before. Sounds as if the halfies are off to a good start. Good luck with them.
My beloved-by-everyone Zippy, who would play sick pig to get attention from the vet techs, totally freaked when he got his first Ivermectin shot, ran up my Tshirt and chewed it into Swiss cheese. The vet and techs were totally amazed that my loving sweetheart did such a total change. I was just happy he didn't chew me into Swiss cheese, lol!!!

oh sorry; resp is just short for respiratory infection. Oh so common in rats...
And thanks guys! They're settling in really well; they still aren't keen on being picked up, but they love snuggling in my jersey, and they come up to the door and sniff my fingers, rather than running from me. Trust is coming, slowly!
and I laughed out loud at Zippy's story! Poor boy. ;P Never underestimate even the sweetest of pigs!

Right, I promised pics, didn't I?? Well, I have some old ones of the girls; they're doing fine, although still scatty! They seem to be much friendlier than a couple of their brothers though, who seem to be causing a bit of trouble for their mums.... Oliver news; I had the lump aspirated, and it came back as a lipoma, so I had it removed, and I had him neutered at the same time; he's doing well, and it's been over three weeks now, so he had play time with the girls the other night. He turned into a big wuss, and now wants nothing to do with girls...;P Silly boy! In other news. I was a stupid, stupid, stupid idiot, and accidentally left Vashti out on my bed, when I put the boys on it for a play. I bet they thought it was the best play time of their lives....so I had her speyed ASAP, and she seems to be doing well recovering, too. It has been as expensive month, though! Cody is doing well, Chucky not so much. ;( He is really showing his age, and we're weighing his quality of life, at this point. Can't be bothered hunting up the piggie thread, so I'll just say here that they're all doing well; babies have grown heaps, and Henry is now bigger than his uncle Badger. He's a big boy, for sure! On to pics! I'm not always sure who is who, but most are Sphynx, as halfway through Phoenix decided to sit on my back. You can't see me.... Hai! Her foot looks really odd here. YOU MUST STAY CLEAN! you again! leave us alone already! cute face. more cute! snailing! I just love their fur; I have missed gooties! checking out facebook. headshot  best non-blurry action pic I got. And then I got this pic just as the battery died. "TURN THAT MUSIC OFF!"

So cute, I love their fur!! They look so small, compared to my girls. How old are they now?
Glad Oliver is doing well after his operation and that you didn't end up with an oops with Vashti. Bet the boys enjoyed that play date!
I've been meaning to ask you what you use for bedding. I've been using fleece and towels, like the pigs use, and the girls are driving me crazy with it! They chew everything, including the plastic trays under the bedding, which is fine, but I'm tired of replacing towels. Also, since they burrow in the the towels/fleece they pull it all up, so I don't know why I bother making a nice neat cage every time I clean it. I'm thinking of getting some big tub type things that are sold at Home Depot and using those on the big levels with shredded bedding, rather than fleece/towels. Do you have any ideas/advice?
