Actually I can't even juggle with 2 balls either... I can throw one ball up in the air and catch it though - weh hey!

Please don't leave it to me hun, I have even less co-ordination now than I did when I was young and that is saying something. Ballet and Stage did nothing to improve it LOL!!

Ah well, even if you can't pirouette, you still wear your tutu about the house I expect?!
Haha 3piggles!

I'm with you 3piggles. That is my extent of juggling ability. Jo, that'd be a great picture to share...you running around the house in a tutu.

Jo, that'd be a great picture to share...you running around the house in a tutu. I expect Jo's off sorting that out for us right now! I've got some snaps of the new cage - a 4x2 C&C cage and here you can see Josh rumbling on top of a box and getting Cadders all worked up as usual! I stuck a grid in the corner like the girl in the video (with the accent and the bald pigs). It has many cable ties holding it on and I also made it so it sort of rests on the correx (the edges of which are covered with the report binders to stop nibbling!). We call this 'the mezzanine' haha! There's a bit of spring in it but it seems pretty secure, even when they both get on. I put a grid at the top to make it more of a sheltered hidey spot and also to stop them climbing out. I've put a bit of correx over the grid they climb on, then vetbed, then just some spare cotton-based material fixed with clothes pegs to stop hair and hay getting stuck in the vetbed. They don't seem to be toileting on there though. They both had a very funny reaction the first few times they went on it - a sort of popcorning/ head twitching fit! I'll get my camera out if they do it again! When I get round to making the fleece liners for the cage, I'll make something a bit better for the mezzanine, but this will do for now. Underneath it is definitely a favourite snoozing spot! I see they've taken some brown paper under there too. So pleased I made this for them - the cage they were in before was a good size but the extra couple of feet make all the difference. They can just get away from one another a bit more easily and love having a few more things to investigate and climb on/ through. It's also much easier to interact with them without having the cage top to negotiate. I'm going to get fella to make a basic table/ cumboard to put it on so I can store their stuff in it. Just a low one so they're still quite close to the floor as I will eventually put a little door in it and build a ramp so they can still free range. TA DA! *bows dramatically*

I bought these years ago, from Wickes - just checked and they don't do them anymore unfortunately. I wanted some that weren't plastic coated (like the ones I used before) as they got chewed in a few places and looked tatty. But I like that the mesh is smaller too - less chance of bedding/poo flying out!
I hadn't realised there was a problem with getting them now but a quick google hasn't brought much up - mainly some strange plastic ones I've not come across before or ones shipped in from the states at a huge cost. Bummer. Have you gone on the forum at cavy cages as someone might have posted a recent source?

Bean, fantastic, absolutely fantastic! I like the idea of the vetbed...never heard of that before or knew what that was.

I used to use it on the whole cage and it does work excellently as everything just drains through it, but you need something in between that and the pigs unless you want to ruin your washing machine! It's not the cheapest either. So many options out there to try - hope we all arrive at our perfect solution!

Excellent Love the addition I really like the tighter mesh , but haven't seen them around here. I have to use the Plexiglass to keep in the poos.

They really do love their new cage, thanks - so glad I made it. The little corner shelf (previously referred to as 'the mezzanine' but not so much now as my son thinks it sounds like the sort of word that could be used to refer to private parts?!) is a big hit and you often find one of them snoozing up on it.
Only snag so far (aside from having to lose a bit of furniture from the living room) is that without a roof I have to be that much more on the ball when there are little ones round visiting, but I can certainly manage that!
It does use more bedding than the last cage - because they go anywhere and everywhere I have to do a full clean just as often. So I'm hoping to sort the fleece out soon.

Cleanup is never ending. Momo lives almost exclusively in her kitchen area, and plays in the rest of the cage. Might get 5 poos in the rest. Morty and Mia use their hidies a lot, so poos everywhere in their cage. Still, work put the fastest, most effective way, and it doesn't take long to clean. Only took me ten years to figure it out, lol
