I applied for a editing position cutting together trailers, and of course I didn't get it. Still, I had several examples that I showcased in my application, and on a whim I also included a trailer for one featurette I did about 20 years ago as proof that I'd been doing these for years.
Love it I figured out that it was body parts and other things, but had no idea it was a gnome. I really like that
Pip and Squeak 1/19/21, Noodles. I miss you Zippy, Dallas, Dakota, Momma, Harlequin, Molly, Grishy, Mia, Momo, Morty, Oodles and NOodles. You're always in my heart.

Thanks!
The video was a dark comedy about alcoholism- a burglar hides his ill-gotten gains inside a lawn gnome to escape being caught, but then the gnome gets stolen by the main character, who's drunk when he does it. The end product didn't quite come together and is admittedly one of my weaker efforts. My former collaborator and I rewrote the script a few years back and intended to shoot a feature film version of it, but that isn't likely to happen anymore.
Just for yuks, here's the trailer that shows more of the actual movie:

I didn't see the gnome coming either! It's an interesting premise, and I can see it really working - too bad it didn't all come together as you wanted.

It's not the worst thing ever, but I tend to view it as the whole not being equal to the sum of its parts. There are a lot of good sequences, but a number of others that don't quite work and overall it's not an effort I shine a spotlight on because of that. Still, the trailers are fun.
I dug up my trip to southern Illinois (2007!) and here's the slideshow:
Wonderful video of little Vicki <3 She was adorable I especially liked the nut thought balloon over her head, lol
I loved the photos taken from inside the cave out into the sunlight. They put your wife and Vicki in a completely different perspective. The negative perspective, I guess, with them black and the light white.
Wow, those are some fabulous rock formations! Well worth a trip to see them <3

That's a keeper, especially once you and your wife are divorced. You two had a great time together. Wonderful memories <3

The falls really are fabulous, aren't they! Great pictures, and I love the spiraling in or out way you did some of the pics. Loved you and Vicki dancing, her spiky hair do, and all her layers of clothes with the rain gear over everything Thanks for that. I got some good chuckles out of it, and it was nice to see the falls, again. I haven't been there since 1977, and hey, nothing's changed

For various reasons I've been uploading more vids from previous years for friends & family to re-watch, so might as well share here too- this is the opening sequence to my 2018 Pennsylvania trip with the first segment devoted to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water house:

An interesting place, I appreciated the information about it. It had to be the idea of someone super loaded to want to live right there and think they were uniting with nature! Hope you're enjoying reliving a few past trips.
I love Falling Water. I've never been there, but have seen pictures. I could definitely enjoy walking down the stairs and sitting in the water, on a really hot, humid day.
Bean, I don't think people in 1938 felt the same way about nature and ecology as we do. For FLW, it was about creating another masterpiece of design and ingenuity, doing something no one had done before. He was famous for that. I have no idea if the structure impedes the river any more, or even as much, as all the mills with waterwheels, all the canals for shipping, etc., did back then. He tried for low impact appearances, buildings that blended in or looked natural. Now, it's a historical monument, so no one's taking it down to preserve the ecosystem
