Hi there! I live in Australia and I've recently decided I might get back into being a guinea pig owner. (I recently moved from America and had a guinea pig there.)
Anyways, I've realized it's not nearly as easy to find guinea pig supplies here in Australia especially C&C cage materials.
I know there's Guinea Pigs Australia where I can purchase pieces and even full cage sets, but it's super out of my price range. I read somewhere that you can DIY a C&C cage with those wire cube storage sets and some coroplast, but I can't even find those storage cubes anywhere in Australia.
My question is; are there any of you who live in Australia and know where I could find something that'll cost less than $60aud?

Hello and a warm welcome to Wheekers! I'm in the UK too and can't think offhand of any regular posters who are from Australia. Have you looked at the page for finding sources on the C&C website? There's also a forum on the website, with a specific board for the major countries that use the forum, including Australia, so perhaps someone in there would be able to point you in the right direction. It's worth looking out for other wire shelving or even things like large cooling rackss that you could use instead - the grids are great but there's bound to be other similar stuff around that you could use. Good luck!

Thanks a ton Jolovespiggies and Bean!
Bean, I'll check it out. Also, how would I connect cooling racks if I were to use them? I feel like a piggy could just eat through zip ties.

I've always used cable ties to connect my grids and have never had a problem with them being chewed through (I've had to put report binders over the edges of the correx to stop them nibbling that though!). I do use the thicker ones but that's more so they don't snap when I'm clumsily flinging the cage around during cleaning!

Hello and welcome to Wheekers We have a resource section in the Wheekerpedia thread, that hasn't been updated for quite a while, but any regular chain stores listed there should still be the same. I will check with some Ausie friends, and see if they have any good suggestions. If you have a hardware store or DIY home store near you that sells metal shelving for closets, you can also use that. Again, connect the sections with zip ties. Those are more expensive than most of the grids I've managed to buy here in the US, so you want to really figure out the cage design, and buy those shelving sections once. There also used to be an Australian Cavy Club. Mostly about showing guinea pigs, but if they still have a website, there might be some resources listed there. Good luck!

MissPiggy01, I posted a link in another thread you started, and that I just searched for "wire storage cubes Australia" and got several sites with the right products. Obviously, you don't have to include Australia in your search, but search for that, and you'll get several good options

No problem, and if you have trouble finding Corex/Coroplast, you can use linoleum, instead. Not as neat and pretty, but does the job
