Endurance flying I don't know why travel entities don't plan better, but they never seem to I hope you got to Romania without any further delays!

Cupcake lost again 90g...everything she gained painfully slow over a course of a month is gone. This worries me...a lot It is also true that all other pigs lost weight last week (between 30g our Snowflake and 50g Marshmallow). I am not sure what we do wrong. They get 500g of fresh veggies every day. I'll be back on Friday and have an extra eye on them and on Cupcake extra.
My initial flight got cancelled...the airline cancelled all flights in and out of Romania for almost one week. I was lucky to catch an indirect flight, for a decent price and a decent flight duration for Friday. That's only a 2 days delay. My supervisor isn't particularly happy, but it's out of my hands.
I'll hopefully pick up the new girls next week Thursday. I am soooo excited.

Can't wait to see pictures of the new girls, and some of your current herd Have you changed anything in their diet that might add more water and less food to their diet? Has the weather changed? Hot weather can put them off their food, as it's just too hot to bother to eat. They will drink more, and eat less. Have you changed hay? That last hay wasn't what you usually get, if I remember correctly. Perhaps they're not eating as much hay as they should. If they all lost weight, I'd think it's something they are all experiencing, so something in the food/hay they're getting. Are you supplementing their food with Critical Care? That might help. Also, if there's something about the current cage, the type of hay, the taste of the water, and a lot of other things can put them off their food. I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but it could be so many things. Cupcake may have lost the most weight because it wasn't solidly back on her body, as it is with the others. Keep us informed.

I was away for the last week, so my husband was left with the pigs alone. I did buy the veggies in advance, so nothing new in their diet. The days are not hotter than usual, actually the summer passed already over there. The days are cooler and rainy. We have gotten a new batch of hay, but we also still have some of the old, so for now they have both versions in their cage.

Sorry to hear Cupcake's lost the weight, I know it was reassuring for you to see her put it back on. How does the herd seem in general? Do you feel they're in good health, and acting like their usual happy and active selves, or is there something other than the weight loss which concerns you? I find it's quite normal for weight to go up and down a little bit, so it only concerns me when it's a downward trend (and to be honest, I don't weigh mine very regularly unless I have cause for concern).
That's a pain there was disruption with the flights, but there's not much you can do about that. Hope you're getting done what you are visiting to do, and are enjoying catching up with family too.

If Cupcake keeps losing weight, you should have a vet check her. Other than that, it seems as if you're doing everything right. I hope they start gaining weight again, soon Glad you got home to Romania and back home to Denmark, even if the travel was long and tedious. The pandemic is definitely still interfering with travel. Hope that changes, so it won't be as difficult to get home to see your mom.

With a 2 days delay, i finally arrived back to Copenhagen on Friday. The flight back was another adventure... I'll definitely never use that company ever again *eye-roll*. Now the fight starts to get from them the money that they owe me, both for the cancelled flight but also for the almost 5h delayed flight.
Yesterday i did the weekly check-up on the pigs, and Cupcake gained 50g. She is still below her usual weight, but at least she gained again. Except of the runny nose (or half of the nose), she is her usual self, popcorning and zooming every few days. She's eating normally and being her usual self.

I hope you get the money they owe you without a whole lot of trouble. They've already given you that, now they need to be the ones being helpful. So sorry the flights were such disasters Good weight gain. I hope it continues. All digits still crossed! Have the others gained weight, too?

The girls are here!!! Everyone, please meet tiny Carameland BonbonThe introduction yesterday evening went fine, a bit of chasing and ruble strutting. The two of them are really scared though, and they barely leave the hidey. I don't know if during the night they got out and ate some hay. This morning, before going to work I spread some hay into the cage, in front of the houses. I am worried that they aren't eating enough

Oh they're gorgeous - a warm welcome to them from me, and it sounds like the others are giving them a pretty relaxed introduction to the herd too!
We've definitely had some nervous new arrivals, who haven't appeared to eat or drink much for a few days. They'll often they'll do it when no one's around, but with the rest of the gang to help your new pair settle in, I'm sure they'll be chomping away in no time!

Don't worry about them too much- they're just adapting to their new home. I had to move my guys to the basement recently and it was a few days before they started to act like they usually do. They got real quiet for a while and I missed the sounds of them wheeking, but they're back. Your new additions to the herd should be in good shape soon.

Bonbon and tiny Caramel start to slowly adapt and come more often out of their houses. They don't take yet any veggies from the hand, not like my other 3 girls, but to be fair Oreo doesn't come either. The tiny baby lost a bit of weight since moving in, but that was expected; mom kept her weight; Cupcake lost again some.
Everyone now is chasing each other, chatting, fixing their ranks....day and night Haha!

Love the video, especially the one trying so hard to get comfy in the hammock Reminded me of my Zippy, who always tossed and turned trying to get comfy Does Cupcake hold her own against the others, getting the food, water and hay she needs, getting her share of the fresh food treats, etc? If so, while the weight loss is concerning, if her behavior and poos are good, she should be basically healthy. She may have situations you don't see, when she can't get the food she needs because another pig is posturing and keeping her from it. Then times when she can get all the food she needs.

I love the piggy train near the beginning; it's like a conga line- someone starts one, and all of a sudden everybody's gotta get in on the act at least for a minute!

Awesome video - I love the level of energy in there, and all that hammock action, it's hilarious! The newcomers have definitely created a lot of excitement! And bless little Caramel, she seems happy to accept let the others throw their weight around. And I love the way she looks round after she's just been dismounted, as in 'Are you coming back? No? Anyone else? Nope? Okay, then.... Hay!'.

I actually find it so funny how Oreo slips and has a tiny jump on the side .. exactly like a conga line
