The moon this morning, when I was outside feeding the wild creatures. Temp was only 12F, and with my cleats, I sounded like a huge monster crunching over the ice and frozen snow 🤗 I can't get your picture to post, but s balaclava is a knitted head covering that pulls over the head, covering the whole head and face, with eye and mouth holes. I have one, and my glasses get so fogged up when I wear it, I can't see anything.

Have you at least found a way to stop your glasses fogging up while you're wearing a mask?!
Great picture! It must feel very peaceful attending to nature at that time in the morning.

I really like being outside then, even if it's really cold. It's so quiet and peaceful, and I'm the only one outside. I'll miss it when we Spring Ahead Days are getting longer, though, and I've noticed, when I started, I got everything done and was back inside, while it was still totally dark out. Now, it's light enough to see birds coming in for the seed, before I go back inside. I'm using a KN95 mask that is good for allergies. It has a metal nose bar for a tighter fit, and lessens the smell of perfume a great deal. I have to make sure it's seated just right, if it doesn't fog up my glasses. If I wear my dark glasses over my regular glasses, they get fogged up, though. So I try not to wear them any more than I have to, especially is I'm going to have to see what I'm doing, lol I found any without a metal nose bar didn't work very well, even the plastic nose bars. They don't conform as well, and they keep loosening, and needing to be refitted. My glasses have the coating to turn dark in the sun. I tend to use those, but have to wait for it to lighten up again, once I get inside, which can be a problem. It's like needed to turn on lights Venus should be super bright and right near the sliver of a crescent moon, tomorrow predawn. We should also have clear enough skies for me to see it, yes! So often it's too cloudy to see anything.

Nope, couldn't even see the moon. I was surprised, because it was only 8F when I went out, and usually that level of cold means totally clear skies. It was beautiful, though. Everything was coated with a fine coating of sparkling ice that looked like diamonds. I hated to use the hand rails on the steps, and mar the beautiful coating of diamonds It's also so quiet outside at that time of morning, it's like being in a different world I think my next astrological siting is on the 20th. I'll check my calendar.

Sounds pretty, even if you didn't get to see anything in the sky. Apparently parts of Scotland had a fantastic view of the Northern Lights last night/ this morning, now that must be an amazing thing to see.

I've just checked the Decathlon website. It's listed as a neck warmer!

I've just checked the Decathlon website. It's listed as a neck warmer! Those get called snoods over here, although traditionally that term is used for head/ hair coverings, so I've never said it to describe what looks like a cowl!

A balaclava is a hooded item that covers the whole head and face, with holes for eyes and mouth. That is a neck warmer. We also call them ski masks, as many skiers wear them to stay warm. I have one. I'll put it on and have hubby take a picture. I used to wear it with googles when it was bitterly cold and windy, so I could walk outside. I have one of those neck warmers, only it's one that's supposed to wick moisture to keep me cool in the summer. Some special fabric. Never made me feel any cooler, but it would be a great way to keep the hair out of my face. Cowl, yes. Snood? Love the word, but can't find a connection to anything Balaclavas aren't proper COVID masks as the mouth isn't covered. They wouldn't be allowed in a business, as most people wearing them into a business plan to rob the business. If the cowl is more than one layer thick, it would be considered a COVID mask, so would be allowed. Yes, I've tried anti-fog spray. Spit actually works best, but I can't use that on my regular glasses. I use it on my swim goggles, and they stay fog free for my whole swim. They aren't totally clean and clear, though, which I'd need to see where I'm going. I've found, as long as I don't wear the dark glasses over the regular glasses, the regular glasses generally don't fog up unless the mask gets skewed. If the sun is brilliantly bright, I'll wear the dark glasses and let hubby lead the way

Slightly off-track, but speaking of balaclavas...
(Don't worry, it's safe for work & the kiddies.)

Haha! I didn't see where that was going at the start, I was too busy thinking 'Oooh I do like baklava!'.
3piggles you'd get thrown out of my pool for spitting on your goggles! Mine always start fogging up about halfway through my session, but not enough so I can't see the shapes of other swimmers well enough to not run into anyone, so I don't do anything about it. Ah swimming... hope it's not too long before I'm back!

Snowman time! The snow's really heavy snow and rolls up very well. This was made in the morning and the snow carried on all day.

It was perfect for snowmen, it rolled up so easily leaving clean grass behind. We rolled up another massive ball which we pushed up to the top of the garden (it weighs a ton because it's so wet, it took a few of us to get it in place!) and then created a slope coming off it for sledging. As we're supposed to stay home as much as possible, we didn't think going to the parks (which are always busy when it snows) was a great idea. Leave them for the people who don't have gardens. It was a bit awkward to get on the top of our slope, but good fun! A bit more today apparently, but then temperatures are rising later in the day.

That sounds like great fun, and why go to park, if you can slide in your own backyard We're having rain. 1.6 inches so far. I have no idea when the rain is supposed to stop, but sometime overnight. We have huge puddles, so after slogging through the mud to feed the birds and squirrels this morning, I splashed in the puddle in the driveway, and got my boots all clean I think I may not be able to walk around the house, tomorrow morning, as the snow is so sogged with rain, I will probably just sink in. I'll try, though. I usually get about 2K steps doing the feeders and walking around the house, before I even start logging steps for the day at 7 a.m.

The other benefit of creating a slope from snow was no big hill to trudge up after every ride! Temperatures are definitely rising - the snowman's head has fallen off this morning.
Hope you manage to feed the animals!

Getting out the seed wasn't a problem. I had thought it might be hard to walk on the snow to do my circuits around the house, and it was, so I stayed on the pavement most of the time. I still had my 3K steps done by shortly after 7 a.m., I just had to make a couple of extra circuits around the house. I love being out before the sunrise, no one else out there. So peaceful and quiet Not having to hoof a hill is a definite plus
