It's always fun when a neighbours' house goes on the market (especially if it's one you haven't visited already) - good to see what they've done with a similar layout, and how much it goes for. Their decking looks really good, it creates a really nice outdoor area. It needing to be treated to stop it getting slippy puts me off, but I'm a lazy swine!
And I really like the rug they have over the chest at the end of their bed!
It's probably as well the weather's gone cool here now as the sunshine was bringing everyone out en masse to parks - definitely a few liberties being taken with the new outdoor rule of six. And so many people littering too - some of the views of parks the mornings after were shameful. I hope all the rule breakers don't delay the next phase of relaxations as I'm itching to swim!

Our COVID numbers are on the rise, attributed to all the travel that's being allowed. Of course, no amount of pleading by the CDC to stay home reached any ears. From Spring Break to all the school vacation travel, no one paid any attention. Even having to get a negative test within 2 days of flying doesn't stop anyone from catching the virus where they go, and bringing it home Some people never learn It is fun to do the virtual tours of houses. I wasn't terribly impressed with the inside. It was nice enough, just nothing to write home about. The house next to us that sold last year is gorgeous on the inside. It's small, but so nicely done. We don't have any problem with the decking being slippery. If you do, there are mats to put on the stairs to give added traction, but we've never needed them. The patio bricks are rough enough not to get slippery, either. I love patios, and really like the way they did theirs, but I think we're too old to do all that work, and hubby isn't great at making sure all the bricks are leveled, so it wouldn't look as nice. I'll stick with the boardwalks. I can imagine knowing the pools could open soon makes it seem as if soon will never arrive. I practically cheered when the Y sent the email saying they were reopening, even if on a reservation basis only. Fine with us! Soon, hopefully!

A few weeks ago our numbers were as low as 800 cases a day... and shortly after that they skyrocketed to almost 3,000 per day! People are idiots. I know we're all tired from this, but they're trying to get everyone vaccinated as fast as humanly possible.

Another Catch-22: People are being stupid about protecting themselves from the virus, because they're burned out from having to protect themselves from the virus. Is there a Trump mentality at work here? Idiocy and lack of understanding/information seem to be leading too many people.

There were definitely a few parties around here last night, and I'm quite sure there were gatherings of more than six and that they didn't all stay outside. I get people are really tired of it all, but I want the relaxations to continue and they won't if rates go up again. It's frustrating.
I think we've now got just over half the population (over 16) vaccinated with at least their first dose. The ones who are mixing most are the younger groups, and very few of them are vaccinated, but I guess they're least likely to get ill too, so who knows how it'll play out.
