Gosh Jackie those are just fantastic photos! I am so glad that you have them. At the risk of seeming dumb here Jackie, how is Squeekie getting along without any cage mate now? You said he is fine but I would be so worried as I'm sure you are. Do you think he will be lonely now? I know you have said that some piggy's do very well being an only pig, do you think Squeekie will adjust or are you thinking you might get another? Also, once a piggy bonds with another, do they accept a new piggy? Sorry for asking silly questions but I don't know that much about piggies and their emotional needs like you, my Guinea Pig Goddess! In fact I know nothing! ~edit~ And what about YOU? How are you doing? You must feel a bit lost now, with all the extra time you now have not worrying or caring for Sweetpea? Gosh, Jackie you are such a good piggy Mum!

What wonderful last photos to remember dear little Sweetpea by. My favorite is the fourth picture... look at her marching along with her little front foot up in the air... the picture of a healthy, inquisitive little piggy. You did such a great job nursing her, Jackie, and it is obvious that she was one happy girl right up to her final days. I'm glad to hear Squeekie is doing well. I bet he really is enjoying all the cuddling... I know Shakira loved it when she was my only for awhile.

Wonderful wonderful pics there Jackie. I am so pleased that you too so many recently. After Christmas Squeekie's & Sweetpea's pic (from the card!) will go up in SFL, and that way, like the other babies in there she will never be forgotten by the Butler family.
Tell Squeekie its fine for boys to be addicted to soaps too... the Slug is getting quietly addicted - but wont ever admit it!
;D
Squeekie - you are such a brave boy, Im sending you loads of hugs little man.

Thank you so much everyone for your lovely messages. Val, Squeekie does seem fine in himself although he isn't as active at free range time as he used to follow my lovely Sweetpea around bless him and also my little Sweetpea as she helped to keep Squeekie extra fit. He was like Sweetpeas shadow, she was always the brave adventrous one. Although I don't feel ready to bring home another piggy just yet, I will always want two piggies and Squeekie is so used to having a friend with him so I don't want him living alone for too long. Most piggies will accept another piggy after loosing a cage mate as long as they are introduced carefully as you know. When I do bring another piggy into my life, I will choose a female from a rescue. Peachy was my last little girl that I actually picked out which was 6 and half years ago now as Sweetpea, Jasmine, Squeekie and Jake came from people that I knew who didn't want them anymore and I've always been so glad they came to me. anna, John is the same, he was catching up on Emmerdale the other day Thank you about what you said about the card, it means alot Merry, that picture of Sweetpea is lovely isn't it Alix, thank you, I'm just trying to take one day at a time and giving Squeekie extra cuddles.

What cute pigtures of Squeekie! ;D I'm glad that it just happened to work out that you had just taken so many pigtures with Sweetpea in them. I hope they can give you some comfort knowing what a happy girl she was living with you. We hope you and the furkids have a Merry Christmas. Lee Anne & the boys*

Aw, such adorable piccies, and such sweet last piccies of Sweet Pea. She had a grand time right to the end, the way it should be. I hope Squeekums has other piggies to play with, so he doesn't miss his boo too much. I'm sure Santa was good to him. Don't let him stay up too late on New Year's Eve, now. You know how piggies can push things if you let them. ;D

I won't 3piggles newpig, Grandad has got some new slippers but he's letting Thumps have his old ones to play with. Squeekie says thanks so much to everyone for their lovely messages, he can't come to the computer right now as he's tucking into a nice piece of broccoli Squeekie is fine thanks Val, he went through his new tunnel for the first time yesterday but guess what, the batteries in the camera were flat. I'll keep them charged up for next time he goes through.

Thank you Beckee, brocolli is one of Squeekies favourite foods I know we are worried about our little Hammy (have made a post about our little Hammy in his thread) and feel as though this is both a happy and worrying time if you know what I mean but wanted to share the nice news that we have a new lovely girl now living with us. She came from Tameside rabbit and guinea pig rescue. I first saw her picture on Christmas eve and although all the girls are beautiful and it was extremly hard to choose, I was that tiny bit more drawn to her. When I went to the rescue yesterday she was quick to come to the front of the cage and looked even more adorable in real life so I just knew she was the one. Aww I did feel awful leaving the other 3 behind (wish I had a purse that had a bottomless pit for vet bills) but its not like I left just one cage mate if you know what I mean, they still have each other. Here is the rescue site and you'll see a picture on the first page. She is the tortoise shell and white piggy. www.tamesiderabbitandguineapigrescue.info/index.htmlElaine who runs the rescue is lovely and her dad and she had named her Tickle but I'll be choosing a new name for her. She is around 6 to 12 months but I'm leaning towards around 6 months going off her size and her nails look small and thin from what you might expect from a younger piggy. Elaine didn't know her true age as she was abandoned in a park *sigh* with the 3 other girls. Anyway after nattering on, here are some pictures of my new little girl Here she is at the rescue with the 3 other girls. They got excited and kicked the bedding in the food bowl And the first picture of her at home in her carrier. and two more lovely pictures. She is very out-going and started eating and drinking almost straight away. She also ate some red bell pepper for the first time and took it out of my hand. She is also very quick, its been a few years since I've had to catch a 50 mph guinea pig lol Squeekies had a little nose nuzzel through the cage bars and I just know they will get along together when I do introduce them. So far Squeekie has always been fine with females so fingers crossed. The names on the shortlist so far are Beatrix, my daughter Jenna likes Bea Bea for short, Tinkerbell and Wilma so far. I called her Tinkerbell when she was home as I could see a cheeky side to her. Anyway I'll let you know how she gets on
