My little boy Squeekie just isn't his usual happy self. His appetite is down and normally at cuddle time he'll lie flat out and rest his head on me. His posture just wasn't relaxed. Squeekie normally tucks into his veg but even Romaine isn't tempting him.
I've been feeding him Critical Care, fluids and given him some Metacam.
It could be Squeekies age bless him as he's 6 years 9 months or it could be a molar problem. He's a little more alert this morning so will see how he goes until monday morning when Aiden his vet will be working.
Beatrix is fine and has been licking his ear which is so cute too see.
Will let you know how my Squeekie gets on.

Hi Squeekie. Hope you are feeling a little brighter this evening.
Jackie, hope all goes well with the vet, or better still that Squeekie has perked up and you don't need to go.

Aw Jackie, Squeekie is getting to be quite the old man isn't he. I sure hope that Aiden can help. I hope he perks up with the Critical Care. Squeekie must be feeling awful to have refused romaine. Get Better Squeekie.

Thanks so much everyone for your lovely messages. I don't think Squeekie is out of the woods yet but he has improved alot. He's more alert, curious and looking at his reflection near the toaster while I'm feeding him. He's eating hay and even romaine now but he's not touching harder veg, even bell pepper which isn't overly hard. I'm going to ring Aiden later. He had a molar spur a few years ago so it might be a tooth causing him discomfort, although when he's eating his hay, it doesn't look like hes struggling. But him refusing carrot and harder veg was the first sign of a molar problem last time. Maybe the Metacam is making him feel better. I'm still topping him up with CC and will moniter Squeekie very closely. Don't you just know straight away when you look into their eyes and they have brightend up Here are some pictures taken a couple of weeks ago that i've been meaning to post Darling Squeekie Squeekie in his cozy Beatrix and Squeekie Beatrix and Squeekie enjoying a veggy pignic And Squeekie peeping out of his and Beatrix's tent I have some films to post so will sort them out soon.

Does sound like it could be the teeth again doesn't it. How did the vet treat them last time Jackie?
Glad to hear he is a bit brighter today and hope all goes well with the visit to Aiden.

Hi Lesa, sorry I was just sorting some pictures out.
Squeekie needed a dental op last time. A molar spur was sorted out but it had caused a bad wound/ulcer and after his op I had to handfeed Squeekie for over two weeks as it took him that long to even start wanting to eat hay.
If Squeekie still continues to not want to eat harder veg then I'll take him to see Aiden. I hope he won't need an op as I think Aiden may need to sedate him.

Oh, come on Squeekie old boy, start eating for mommy. I hope it's nothing too bad. Yes, you can definitely tell when they perk up. Their whole demeanor changes. We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed for Squeekie to be okay.
I love the pics. Your kids are so cute.

Thanks so much everyone.
Well I'm relieved I made an appointment for Aiden to see Squeekie in the morning. I'm afraid Squeekie isn't eating much hay this afternoon/evening so I'm feeding him his CC more regular.
I just hope he doesn't need a dental op as you always worry about sedation.
He was relaxed on me this evening while watching Corrie so hopefully it means he not in too much pain.
I'll let you know how my little boy gets along.
