The "monster cage" has now reached a habitable stage and has been christened "Twr Gwich" (spoken: toor gweekh), the "Wheeking Tower". We are still short of the mezzanine floor on top. Here it is: The walk-in facility for my roaming piggies: For cleaning downstairs: The outside ramp: Entrances to the ramp: Not everypig has mastered the ramp yet, but Taffy has been spotted popcorning on the top, so we are hopeful...

It looks great (and more to come), lucky piggys; I love the outside ramp, really practical and takes up no space in the cage.

Yes - and the outside ramp doesn't mess up the fleece, either!
Nia is up and down like a fire engine; Telyn can go down, but not up; and Taffy hasn't noticed the ramp yet - but she was the one popcorning on the top floor! ;D

Great cage! And I missed the pictures of Nerys and the hay. I really like the second one with her peeking in.

Excellent, and definitely solid, lol. I love the name. There is so much good space in that set up. Does the bottom pull out for cleaning?

My reserved girl Cariad (former Peggy) has arrived today, together with a surprise friend, Ceri (former Maggie), whom Becky from Becklen Guinea Pig Rescue had originally wanted to keep for herself - and I can fully understand why!!! Here are my two new girls: Cariad ("darling", pronounced CAR-yad) and Ceri ("love", spoken a bit like "Kerrie") Cariad is white with lilac and buff, and Ceri is white with black and buff) - two very special early birthday presents!!! They have been accepted into the yodeltribe with a minimum of fuss (the indroduction took place under the kitchen table): (Telyn Llewelyn Ceri Nia Cariad Taffy) The bum sniffing chain! Ceri (Nerys) Cariad Taffy Telyn Llewelyn Ceri is making herself very much at home already!

The others are all girls and have come to me in pairs, teddy sisters Nerys and Nia in May, abyssinian mom Taffy with her baby daughter Telyn in August and now my coronet girls Cariad and Ceri, who are not related, but were kept together in a group of five sows.

The new girls are wonderful, and it's so good to see them settling in with a minimum of fuss. Llewelyn's family is growing so nicely.

Yay! New piggies are so exciting. And yours are very pretty ladies.
About the tribble remark; It seems guinea pigs have a lot in common with tribbles the way the number of them in a household seems to multiply so quickly...

Indeed!!! However, these girls will be my last addition... I'm amazed at how well Cariad and Ceri seem to fit in - they have spent their second night as part of the big girls' pile-up already! ;D They haven't left the cage yet on their first full day here, but I'm sure that that won't be far away at the rate they're going!

The piggies LOVE their new cage!
We still want to add a mezzanine floor on the top floor with a piling-up sleeping place for the whole tribe underneath, as they seem to like sleeping all together.

Sounds like a perfect intro and great that they are all snuggling up already. Any more pics?

Not yet - I want them to settle in first and getting used to me hanging around without getting a fright every time! We had a cage clean and a check/groom/weigh-in today; they are only 700g/740g. That is enough excitement! Their long coat is absolutely silky soft and fine, like an aby's!
