Easter is being celebrated with a special gala dinner held in honour of the latest members to join the PIG-UN. During the festivities the new members have been able to meet with various delegates and get tips and hints on how to operate in the jungle of cavy politics! “You can usually ignore the secretary general’s speeches, but don’t show it or he’ll get miffed!” “Try and stay out of the heated debates; some heavy weight cavies simply love too much throwing their weight around!” “We have a strong’s women’s rights faction in the UN; you’re welcome to join! It has gained some real political weight now!” “Thanks! Would you mind telling me your secret for gaining weight quickly?” “You can run your own subventions racket, as long as you stay away from my interests!” “Just find your own source of extra income. But better be careful not be too obvious about it! The public is starting to catch on and we do not want to have our diets cut!” “Sounds like there’s a lot more going on in here than meets the eye!” “If you need some help with arranging the odd extra supplement - a pretty young thing like you...” “THAT is exactly not the way to make friends in important circles!” “Young members should better sit tight until they have learned the ins and outs, before they make sweeping statements!” “You have to very quick to get your fair share, haven’t you?” “If you ask me – the morals may be suspect, but politics are certainly a sure fire way to a good life style!”

I was in a meeting at work on Thursday and my brain went instantly to this thread I remembered the quote, “You have to be very quick to get your fair share.” We had a 3 day time span to get a grant written for state funding. People were called in to work around the clock to get it written!!! Yes, my mind revolves around threads in Wheekers

Not just the Islandic volcano eruption is having a big impact on the international cavy community, but an unexpected cold snap despite sunny skies is proving to be far more devastating. An emergency meeting has been called in! But where is the the secretary general? Has he been caught out by the flight restrictions? No, he has only been held up by a traffic jam! All nine members are of the same opinion that securing the supply of fresh grass must have first priority! The complete cancellation of open air grazing on the lawn has severely curtailed the share of grass available to every single cavy. At this point, a cat fight between two senior members of the UN is breaking out... ...which prompts further knee jerk reactions from other members. As this fight involved the secretary general, there was nopig left to call the meeting to order. Sadly, we cannot report any further, as the room had to be cleared and the meeting postponed, leaving the crisis unsolved!

I hope that you enjoy my guinea pigs sharing one plate (their choice, not mine - all I did was grab the camera and snap away!)

Lol, I'm not sure clearing the room wouldn't help some of the human UN meetings!!! I hope the Chairman is feeling better.
