Once the grass is gone the meeting is adjourned! -lol Well my two lawnmowers are broken; and my grass is really, really, deliciously long - If you would like to visit The States to partake in a feast you are all very welcome!!!

The latest general assembly of the pig-UN started off well enough... ...especially as long as there was plenty to go round! Some members were commenting on how unusually smoothly proceedings were going... ...and even some unlikely allies got along peacefully! However, the big cavies were only biding their time... ... before stating their vested interest in maintaining a position of strength! As so often, the meeting ended in utter chaos when the secretary general himself was ruthlessly attacked! Sadly, the problems didn’t even stop there but were carried over into the various top quality hotels where the members of the pig UN lodge in their accustomed style. Unexpectedly, firm allies found themselves at loggerheads! Whereas discussions about the abolition of the common meals policy where comparatively friendly... ...any suggestions on how to replace the old time honoured system were met with comprehensive criticism... ... and quickly nipped in the bud! As the secretary general so wisely remarked – it is always so much easier to shoot an existing system down than to create something new that works!!!

I think large herds are great advertisements for the benefits of having pigs with other pigs and not alone. It brings out the most in them, good or bad, and shows much more of their true selves. There are bound to be problems, but they are so much more interesting than single pigs, it's worth the few problems.

The rumour mill at the headquarters of the PIG-UN is running at full speed with news that a new undisclosed cavy is to join the organisation. “Have you heard anything new about the identity of the cavy that has been mentioned in the press?” “Sadly no confirmed news, but there are whispers that it is a cavy in need of special supportive measures.” “ Secretary-general, can you tell us more about those press reports that have suddenly cropped up?” “Sorry, I am not in a position to tell. You know, the diplomacy...” “.. . all I can say – in strictest confidence - that there will be a new member indeed provided that the delicate secret negotiations are heading to a successful conclusion.” “Won’t that put any more pressure on the strident cuts that have been imposed on the UN budget?” “On the contrary, it is the only way to unlock some additional food resources for the aid package that will be required for the member-to-be.” “Err... Secretay-general, does that mean more food for us all?” “I just wish that we would be told who it is before we read it in the press!” “Well, my dear, I am certainly not going to worry... ...about new members or not... ... as long as I get my usual share!” “Sorry, I can’t give any statements whatsoever to the press. I need to be in the next meeting already!”

Ohhh, I love all the piggies together - how cute! My kids loved these pictures, too. My 5 year old asked me if we could get that many! It would be fun, but not while we have also have 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 mice! ;D

Latest news from inside the PIG UN head quarters confirm that the Secretary General has been sidelined by a strong coalition of traditionalist delegates. The assembly started as cordially as usual... ... but the mood changed as soon as the UN members were notified by the Secretary General that the supply of green fuel could not be guaranteed over the coming winter months due to climate related reasons. ] A new mode of redistribution needed to be worked out... ... and drastic cuts in all departments would have to be made! Every member would have to go through their budget with a fine comb... ... in order to identify potential areas for substantial savings. No UN member would be exempt... ... to make sure that a minimum ration of green fuel could be delivered to all parties affected. Of course, the Secretary General didn’t expect his speech to go down well! But when the assembly roundly refused to listen to his arguments, he retired to his own office for deliberations on his own political future. He was however soon rudely interrupted by some very angry UN members... ... who wouldn’t believe promises that any cuts would also include his own allowance! As one right wing member pointed out – “The supply of green fuel is vital to the continued future of the cavy world. The office of Secretary General is not!”
