Well I have some sad news to report :-( as we were on our way back from a few days away we had a text from our lodger to say honey had passed away. :-( not sure what happened to her, feel so bad as we were away I could have not kept an eye on her. She seemed her usually high spirited self when we left.
I have checked flick over and she seems fine but because she is on her own now, I moved her straight inside the house when we got in last night. Even after a 12 hour car journey my piggies come first. With everything going on with the wedding at the moment we won't be getting another one but instead keeping Flick really busy and getting her some new toys. She Is five now so not sure she will accept a new piggie. If she seems unhappy by herself my uncle said he would rehome her with another one of the girls he had of us a couple of years ago when we had 7 of them. Although it will be nice to be able to get flick out every night for cuddles.

Aww such sad news - I'm really sorry, glittze. Don't feel guilty - you left her well cared for and these things can happen anytime. Feel reassured that it was most likely something swift that caused her little discomfort rather than a longer illness which you'd have seen signs of before you went away. Hope Flick adjusts well to being a solo pig and enjoys all the extra attention she'll get being inside. xx

Very sad hews I don't think you need to rule out getting her a friend because of her age - oldies can bond well too!

I'm so sorry. I think it's harder to lose a lovey when we're not there for them. Popcorn free, little guinea girl ♡♡♡

Glittze, that's awful. I'm so sorry for your and Flick's loss. Don't blame yourself. It was a blessing that she didn't suffer long, if at all. Big hug to you and cuddle to Flick.

Flick seems to be doing ok. We are thinking of asking my uncle if we could take one the girls back he took off is (the other one sadly passed a few months ago) flick always got on with them just not honey so we can give her a friend back , daisy is an old girl too so they can chill out together.
I am currently swapping chews and toilet rolls around in cage to keep her busy which seems to be working but she is not coming out of her hidey much just takes everything in there. She even manages to nudge her hidey over her food bowl so she doesn't have to come out to eat her pellets! She was a little but overweight so now with just the one piggy at the moment I am able to keep a close eye on the amount of pellets she eats etc. Had her out for cuddles last night and clipped her nails and she was a good girl. Will have to get her used to being handled a lot more now like she used to be before we had a whole herd of piggies xx

That sounds like a great idea about getting her a piggy friend especially one that she already knows. Your doing a wonderful job trying to help her get through her loss. The interaction with you will definitely help her. My Harry would get depressed before I got Weasley. I found interacting with him a lot made all of the difference...talking, cuddling, hand feeding veggies bite by bite, etc

I think taking the house everywhere gives her something to do. Mine have often turtled the pigloos around their condos. She's adjusting. I think getting one of the other girls back is a great idea

Hello all.
Well flick is doing a lot better now. Everytime we are in same room as her she comes out to say Hello, she also getting spoilt with cuddles. She evening starting talking to us today while we had her out so seems like she is getting more confident. We still looking into sorting a friend for her but will probably wait till after wedding when things get back to normal so only a few more weeks on her own :-)
