Thanks! It was taken along Historic Route 66! (Runs just past my neighborhood, so it's not as if I had to make a special trip!)

I still really enjoy this thread. Even more so now that on another board where sky pictures were posted, the members there have taken it upon themselves to post pictures they found online. Now, they've posted some nice pics, but nobody credits the original photographer and it's become tedious for me to bother looking, as I really want people to post pictures they've taken of their own experiences. That said, THIS thread on THIS board is still a winner in my book.

My daughter took one at about the same time - it's interesting how differently the colours have come out.

Wow, the colors really are different! Both pics are gorgeous 🤗
I see some great pictures posted on Facebook, but as Baz said, they often don't credit the photographer. I also like the setting. Trying to get a good angle for the shot, and good or interesting composition for the shots. I really like the composition of the shots 🤗

Mum and I are doing a daily photo exchange at the moment, to get us back in the habit of taking photos. It's been good, and looking at the photos afterwards in a more analytical way than I usually would is giving me pointers about how to improve.
I definitely need to take more time thinking about what's in the shot and setting it up. I always feel like I want to look at things properly rather than through a lens, so I can appreciate the moment rather than just having a record of it. But it's definitely worth taking a few more seconds to get a really nice record of a moment rather than a very average rushed snap!

I like to get pictures with a view through the lens, concentrated on a specific view. For this picture, I walked around the tree until I got the shot I wanted. It has the colored leaves, the Halloween decoration on the lamppost and an almost leafless bush in the back. Pure Autumn.

I managed to dig this up and I can't remember when I took it, but I recall our conversations about trying to get a shot of the moon. This has been my best attempt yet...

Wow! I don't think my phone even takes pictures like that! That's fabulous! I'm pretty sure I just got lucky. In any case, I really want to get closer, but that seems to be the limit on my camera.

I've had that happen, and understand completely.

A couple of recent sky pictures. One from last week, just before all the snow melted. And this one was just before the storm started yesterday.
