Ouch, Baz! I'm not surprised you stopped sarring with them! Were they traing for MMA competition or something similar, taking it all the way? Bean, that would be funny, if it weren't so true

Ouch, Baz! I'm not surprised you stopped sarring with them! Were they traing for MMA competition or something similar, taking it all the way? The guy who was the leader was basically interested in throwing out stuff that didn't work, and concentrate on effectiveness. Scratch those fancy jump kicks and flowery movements, we were looking to streamline our techniques. It was great exercise and excellent training for awhile, but as it wasn't my career choice there had to be a stopping point. Besides, if there were more people my own weight division it would have been a little less hard on the body. (It's hard to always be the smallest guy in the ring.)

I can definitely understand that. There's a reason for weight classes. While being at the top of a weight class is an advantage, being the smallest person there is not.

LOL I've actually never had MacDonald's screw up my drive thru order, but I think I'm the only one I did know a boy who applied for a job at MacDonald's, and was told he was over qualified. I guess that sums up the problem

LOL I've actually never had MacDonald's screw up my drive thru order, but I think I'm the only one I did know a boy who applied for a job at MacDonald's, and was told he was over qualified. I guess that sums up the problem I generally don't eat fast food or use the drive-thru, but I know several people who do and it seems a universal constant. Also, if you've seen the movie Lethal Weapon 2 Joe Pesci goes into a monologue about it, but as it's profanity-filled, I don't want to link to the YouTube clip here.

It was lost on me! I know some of the fast food chain branches have drive-through, but I wouldn't say they're massively popular and I've never heard anyone talk about them, let alone singling out bad or good service at any!
You'd think if it was common knowledge they were that bad compared to their rivals, they'd have done something about it over the years!

I'm not sure any of the fast food drive thrus are better than any others. MacDonald's seems to be one of the worst, but I've had problems with Burger King and Wendy's, as well. Arby's has a really good drive thru. We've been very pleased with that. Maybe Brits don't spend as much time in their cars as Americans do. We have to use our cars to get just about anywhere, unless we live in the city. Even if we live on the outskirts of the city, we have to use our cars. So we tend to use the drive thru option, as we don't have to take the time to park, lock the car, go into the restaurant, stand in line, etc. Especially if it's really hot, really cold, raining, etc. It's just easier to use the drive thru. My daughter used to go through the MacDonald's drive thru to get chicken nuggets, and always got fewer nuggets than she ordered. Why she didn't check the contents of the bag before she drove away from the drive thru window, I don't know. We always do, so if there's anything wrong with the order, we can correct it right then. Many US restaurants, especially the chain restaurants, have curbside service. We can call in an order and pay for it over the phone by credit card, they give us a time such as 20 minutes, then they bring the order out to the car to us. Better even than take out. We jog in the park and do 5K road races, but don't want to get out of our cars to get food. One of our supermarkets now offers a shop by phone option. Call in the order, pay for it over the phone by credit card, they give a time, and you go to the pick up point and they load the groceries into your car. It's actually great for people with mobility problems, or with lots of kids they would have to control in the store or restaurant. Making pizza delivery seem old school

Yes, we tend to be packed together a lot tighter over here! So drive-throughs probably aren't as popular.
I think it's great there are so many more delivery and help options for food shopping, especially for people who can't lug shopping round so easily. I especially like the delivery options as one (relatively) environmentally friendly van tootling round all day is better than dozens of gas-guzzling cars doing round trips.

When we have a MacDonalds, Paul won't drive through, he prefers to park up and go in and I don't know why; I don't think he does. Good joke Baz love. I don't think we have curbside service anywhere here Piggles love, it is either collect or deliver.

A blonde and a redhead have a ranch. They have just lost their bull. The women need to buy another, but only have $500. The redhead tells the blonde, "I will go to the market and see if I can find one for under that amount. If I can, I will send you a telegram." She goes to the market and finds one for $499. Having only one dollar left, she goes to the telegraph office and finds out that it costs one dollar per word. She is stumped on how to tell the blonde to bring the truck and trailer. Finally, she tells the telegraph operator to send the word "comfortable." Skeptical, the operator asks, "How will she know to come with the trailer from just that word?" The redhead replies, "She's a blonde so she reads slow: 'Come for ta bull.'"

This isn't exactly a joke, but I ran across this video and you don't really need to watch the whole thing- just scan through the first minute, then click to watch on YouTube and read the sarcastic comments; those made me laugh so hard I cried.
