Mine are all the 14x14 grids, so are great for keeping pigs next to each other, but unable to get into fights. They also take the hangers for the water bottles, which I don't think the mesh ones do very well. I know what you mean. I have boxed of grids I should pass on, but never get around to it.

I love to have pet, but I don't have any idea about keeping a pet. I searched at crazepet.com/. Here I can get many products related to pets.

Hello and welcome There are a lot of sites with guinea pig information, if that's the type of pet you want. Before adopting a pet, always learn all you can. You'll need special food, and not all food is good. You'll need space for them to live, play, exercise. Most of all, you'll need money to get them the veterinarian help they'll need. Some veterinarians do small animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, but not all vets care for those animals. Those animals are called Exotics, at least they are here, so before getting a pet, check for what they're called, and if there's a veterinarian near you who specializes in that animal. Most veterinarians routinely care for dogs and cats, so if you choose to get a dog or cat, you shouldn't have much trouble finding a good veterinarian. Not all veterinarians are equal, so it's best to learn all you can about the animal you want to adopt, so you can ask the veterinarian good questions, to determine if it's a good vet, and a good fit for you. Remember, veterinary care can be very expensive, so only adopt an animal if you can afford to care for it. There are usually some very good sites about each type of animals, such as cat sites, dog sites, guinea pig sites, etc. Browse several of those sites, then join the site that seems to have the most information. It's always good to have a place to ask questions, and people who can answer them. If you decide on a guinea pig, you will need two guinea pigs, as they are very social creatures. You'll need a cage big enough for them to run and play, as well as to get away from each other once in a while. Just like us, they sometimes need some time to themselves You can buy grids and make a large cage for much less than buying one at the store, and most cages available at the store aren't very good. If you do get a store cage, make sure it's a 2 foot by 4 foot cage for rabbits, as that's minimal for guinea pigs, and way to small for rabbits. All animals need a constant supply of clean water. Water bottles are better than bowls, because the water in the bowls gets fouled very easily with the pigs running around, and kicking hay and poos into the water. The cages need to be cleaned at least once a week, and sometime more depending on the type of bedding you use. If you need more information on bedding, don't hesitate to ask Guinea pigs also need fresh fruits and vegetables. If you decide to get a guinea pig, we can supply you with some sites that give great information on fruits and vegetables to feed guinea pigs, and not to feed guinea pigs. To start, check guineapigcages.com/ They have a page of cages you can buy from them, I think to assemble yourself, and it gives you a really good idea what you can make for a guinea pig cage. They also list cage size by the number of pigs being housed in it. I prefer to go up to the next largest cage. Always adopt from a place that knows a lot about the animals, so can make sure you are adopting 2 females or 2 males, and one of each. Males can be neutered, which must be done by a veterinarian. It's best not to spay females as that's major surgery, and the pig may not live through it. Another great site is www.guinealynx.info/sitemap.html Guinealynx is a medical site with forums where you can ask questions, and a great deal of prepared information to get you started, and help you take great care of you guinea pigs. The site map page shows you all the options Good luck

This seems like spam to me.

I thought that, too, but just in case it really is someone who speaks English as a second language, who wants to know more about guinea pigs before getting them as pets. I decided to give the answers I would give to someone I didn't think might be spamming us.
Bean and I used to be on a guinea pig forum that had people from all around the world, and many posted in hesitant English. Same on The Guinea Pig Forum, so it's possible it's a real person. I'd rather answer a spammer than not answer someone who will get bad advice from someone else. Wish we didn't have to worry about that.

It's not the most fascinating video, but I did a little time laspe of the pigs when they were out for a quick grassy jaunt last week.
I'm hoping to have another go soon - as my phone synchs to my computer it's pretty straight forward, so I've got no excuses! (Well, that's never true, I can always think of something!)

It's not the most fascinating video Well, I rather enjoyed it! I liked seeing them run around; it's a sharp contrast to all my guys, who either sit in their pigloos or stay in one spot attempting to eat all the grass within reach.

It makes me laugh seeing Tissue (white) just looking up and around from her box - she does that loads indoors too (and not necessarily at the other pigs, it can be at us or even just the room). You'd almost believe she had great eyesight and could understand everything that was going on! (She's always very receptive to a head rub when she's observing.)

I was trying to get a nice photo of Tissue to commemorate her celebrating her 6th birthday at the weekend, but she was in a very inquisitive and interactive mood, so this is the best I could do!

They are soooooo cute! Indeed, I love Tissue, how she's peeking out of her box; her face is so cute and those cheeks are asking for scratches

She loves a good nose rub, but she's the one we inherited as she's rather feisty and nippy, so being well-trained in her likes and dislikes, I think it's quite possible a cheek scratch would get you a chomped finger!

Farewell to Tissue who died last month. This picture was taken when she first arrived with Biscuit, who she was then terrorising. Biscuit loved this deep snuggle pouch as Tissue couldn't get in properly (like she could with a box or pigloo - her technique was to rush in aggressively, give a nip or just a threat of one to Biscuit, and then rush out, celebrating with a victory lap) so she ended up sitting on top of her instead?! The others have definitely had a reassertion of their dominance since she died - even just having a party wall, I think Tissue had her place in the hierarchy. It's settled down now, and Reginald is most definitely boss.

I think guinea pig society if far more complex than we tend to think it is, so I'm not surprised her passing caused a short upheaval of how things had been. For some, it was a chance to try for dominance they couldn't get the way things were before. For some it was a change in the physical cage, having her annex removed, that made it all new again, and that requires exploring, dominance, etc. I'm glad they've settled down and gotten back to life as usual. I'm also glad they have a chance to mourn, because in the wild, they really don't get that chance.

Aw, love the pictures <3 The fact they were looking at you for treats meant they were doing something. Mine are usually doing nothing, or fleeing for cover from the camera
