Goodness no Jo! I just leave the buggies to their own business... Unless they need helping away from my herbs and veges...

I always planted things for the birds and animals. Hubby used to laugh at me, but admitted he enjoyed watching them come for food. Can't do that here at the condo, but maybe at the next place!

No, not a buggie fan Jo! I love all the birds that come visit our yard though! And the kangaroos that come to the top of the street on dusk. And we have had a few green tree frogs lately also! And we have a new resident outside our bedroom window! The most beautiful gecko that has blue and grey diamonds down his body! He's gorgeous and huuuuge!

Thank yu for all y0our kind ostings ladies.
Sad news though, one of the little ones died and I am afraid it was my fault. He went to drop t the ground and I caught him and I think I must have hurt him. I cannot tell you how gutted I am, I am such a clumsy cow. I spent a few days really miserable and I still cannot come to terms with it.
Sorry to have to tell you all this as you have been really cheerful about my buggies even if some of you do not share my love of them and it is much appreciated. I will get another little leafie but it will be closer to christmas when I do. They do not mind being on their own so I will get another as soon as I can.
Hugs

Aww Jo I'm so sorry to hear about your little one. I totally understand how upset you must be about how it happened but please don't be so hard on yourself. It was an honest mistake made only because you were trying to protect him. That sort of instinctive reaction is so quick, we don't have time to think about whether it might be the best thing or not - only that we want to protect. It may have been that he would have hurt himself just as much if he'd fallen, you just don't know. I know you would feel very sad however you had lost him, but please don't be miserable with yourself too - you show so much love and kindness to all animals and should feel proud of how you treat them. None of us are immune from making mistakes. xx

I think it's impossible to know what insects need from us lummoxes. We are so used to our physical world, we don't know the exact amount of help to give, pressure to apply, when they need help and when they don't? They aren't from our world. Please don't punish yourself for being human, and not understand leafy life

Thank you my darlings for your kind words, they really mean a lot to me. I can always guarantee wonderful warmth and friendship from my friends on here. It was a quick reaction, something I am not normally known for but this time it was fatal. I am going to avoid any handling until they (I will get another one when I can) are older.
Lots of love and thanks to you all.

That's something I've never understood about insects. They spend most of their short lives getting to be adults, only to mate and die? I wish they could live in their adult state longer. Yes I do too 3pgiggles love. Take the Rhino bBeetle, he is gorgeous but spends msot of his life as a grub and lives a very short time as a beetle. Hugs Jo xx

Bless you Margaret for asking. I only have little Alfie now and I am pleased to say he is fine. I gave his bramble a light spray this morning which makes the leaves juicer and is helpful when they go to their next instar (shed). When I had a look at him today, he was flexing his lovely little wings, he is so cute, I adore him.
Thank you for your kind interest Margaret love.

He is a lazy little man though, he can stay on the same leaf for days. I wonder if he gets pins and needles LOL!!
