And today is the day you get the keys to your new place! Hope it's as good as it seemed online when you arrive - or better even! Hope your furniture arrives quite soon so you can make yourselves at home too. Do the movers unpack and organise everything back in the rooms for you too?!

Moving is such a monumental production. Kind of wish all places came furnished, and we just took our clothes and personal items to the next place.

Hello my forum friends! We are here! I have been busy setting up house. Everything went smooth and all the animals made it with no trouble at all! The house is small, but it works. I have an amazing mountain view too! I will get some pictures soon.

Hurray! Glad you are in and that the trip went smoothly for all. The house looks great, I love the open plan downstairs.
Those are some big wind farms. We pass quite a few on our motorways, but none so well populated as that!
I love cacti so would really enjoy seeing those massive ones! Fella and I have a plan to get a winnebago and travel across the US when we've retired, so maybe I will...

I love cacti, I think they are cute. We have a few wind farms here in Cornwall.

3piggles~~~ The sand in Pensacola, FL and all along the Gulf Coast is white like sugar. The and here is more of that typical brown color that one thinks of with sand. The trip was great. We didn't hit any traffic, we had no problems with the hotels or the vehicles. It really could not have gone smoother! Now, I just need to get a Cacti for the house.

Oh you're lucky, we seem to have special powers to jam up the roads in front of us when we go on trips haha! Really glad it all went so well, you'll be a great source of advice if any of our members have questions about travelling with pets!

I have such a green thumb EXCEPT with orchids and cacti. Can't seem to grow them at all! I hope you find a great one for your house Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk

I am so glad you had a nice trip love and it is true about the UK, there always seem to be traffic jams when you want to go out for the day. It really can take the pleasure out of it.

Same here, Jo. We tend to go where the traffic isn't. Gave up on going to the beach when it meant going before dawn or waiting in traffic for hours. Not fun.

It certainly is hun, sometimes during holidays there are miles and miles of cars heading into Devon and Cornwall.

My friend's from Devon - she lives a couple of hundred miles away now but pops home regularly. Her last journey took about 2 hours longer than usual because of all the caravans and extra holiday traffic, so she's going to get the train between now and the end of the tourist season. I think if we went down that way we'd get the train or travel overnight!

Probably a good idea. Our train system is nothing like yours, so train travel doesn't solve many travel problems. Good for commuting around cities. That's why Americans are so reliant on cars.

Your train systems are worse than ours? Crikey, I'm sorry for you haha!
It's a small country but the public transport in Switzerland was amazing - always on time, clean and efficient. There are too many delays and problems with ours - usually caused by entirely predictable things like leaves on the line or a bit of snow (although often the 'wrong' kind apparently?!). They're often overcrowded and overpriced on a good day too. Hence why my friend drives if she can!
