How are the boys? Sent from my SCH-I435 using proboards They are doing fantastic! Thank you for asking. The vet told me that I was giving to many carrot bites to the boys and recommended that I dice the carrots and give the diced pieces purely as treats. So I've been doing that. It feels like I'm giving them more carrots but in reality I am giving them less. They wheek every time they hear me and definitely when they hear the frig door now. It used to be just Harry begging verbally for veggies. I know hear Weasley. He doesn't wheek, but he becomes very vocal. They both come to where I feed them veggies and stand on their back legs leaning against the barrier. It is sooo cute. I believe that it was Jo who mentioned rubbing Weasley's nose for her and that got me doing that to the boys every time I give veggies. I'm noticing that Weasley is now letting me touch other parts of his head. Harry still doesn't like it. Well...this is when they are in their pen. They don't have a problem being touched during cuddle time.

There first was Hogwarts and the Quidditch field and then The Burrow joined the fun. I know some of you have thought Hogwarts was a bit too small for two boars. I have to say that as they grew, I grew to see it too. I started having them split their time between Hogwarts & Quidditch field. Then I decided to convert the bathroom in my kitchen to The Burrow. They have been in The Burrow pretty much all of the time now, but that meant that I have lost a bathroom. I've wanted to get a C&C cage, but every time hubby and I looked into them, they were more than we could afford at this time. But my shopping hubby did not give up. Almost daily he checked Craigslist. He came to me with a post to see what I thought of it. It was listed as a used 2x4 C&C for $40. I almost jumped with excitement. Well I went and picked it up today and found that it wasn't a 2x4 C&C cage it was a 2x5 C&C cage with a screen top WAHOO... Once I get it all set up, I'll post pictures. I couldn't contain my excitement, so I came online to tell you before I have pictures ready.

Here it is... Hubby is picking up another pigloo on his way home from work. I haven't figured out how I will set up this cage but here it is in the meantime. I do need to come up with a new name for it. I haven't decided whether this will be the new Hogwarts. Or whether I will come up with a new name. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk Attachments:

The boys are very happy with their new home. Today was cleaning day. They spent their cleaning time in The Burrow with a Vicks Vaposteam and hubby laying on the floor. I'm not sure if it was Jo or 3piggles who mentioned in another thread that if you lie down during floor time that they will make you a part of the game. I told that to hubby and he liked the idea. I put endive pieces up and down his body which started the fun! When they got back to their cage, it was completely cleaned and totally reorganized. When I put the boys in it, Harry started popcorning immediately. Weasley also acted excited. Harry has been popcorning on and off since I put him back in it. So I'm thinking that this new arrangement might work. I'll post pictures later. Under the hayloft, I put the green lid that I've been using. In the lid I put cat litter then window screening and then fleece wrapped around it. I'm hoping the boys don't figure out a way to unwrap it. I really don't want them getting to the cat litter (using a silicone type). They have also a corner hayloft which I have the newspaper litter on the bottom. I have the newspaper litter all around the edges and anywhere I find them peeing. They really like peeing in their pigloos. I haven't figured out the best way to absorb their pee. I put stuff in there, but they, specially Weasley, likes rearranging a lot. Therefore, whatever I put in there doesn't usually stay in there. To clean I use 50% distilled vinegar with 50% water. I find this works the best in getting rid of the pee stains. NAMING ... So what has been previously known as Hogwarts (converted dog cage) is now known as 4 Privet Drive (Privit for short) since that is where Harry Potter grew up (in the books) and it wasn't the best home to be in. When he moved to Hogwarts he thought he found his home. So our new cage is now Hogwarts. I've packed up the Quidditch Field (dog swimming pool) to be their travel home for pigsitting or for evacuation. The Burrow (kitchen bathroom) is where floor time occurs.

It all sounds fabulous, and I'm so glad someone else finally experienced getting down with the piggies. Hubby and daughter were always telling me to get up and let them play. They missed so much not getting down to piggy level!

Exactly, 3piggles! Hubby had so much fun, he laid there for quite a long time. Next thing I know I hear snoring coming from the bathroom.

I just recently switched to fleece and I find it so much better then Paper bedding. Thanks jaybot83! Hubby and I guessed that you named Chewy after Chewbacca. It fits so perfectly! I use fleece and newspaper bedding. I'm trying to figure out a way to get it the bottom fleeced in such a manner that the boys can't get under it. How did you go about that? I'd love to see pictures of your piggie home.

Silamb, try piling a piece of fleece in the cage, so the can play in that, instead.

We also have a huge grid play pen i set up for them when its floor time. I line the cage with a towel and then put my fleece on top and tuck it under the towel. I have alot of different kinda of print fleece the one im using now is dinos

If you check our Housing thread in the Wheekerpedia section, you'll see pictures of members cages. Lots of great ideas. For the cost of a store bought cage, you can build a really big C&C cage
