Aww good luck Jo - on Monday I will have everything crossed that it goes super smoothly for you. Great news that it's being done as a day case as you don't have to leave all your babies for long - I bet you are very, very relieved about that!
Good luck getting there for 7am too - ouch! At least you won't have to make time for breakfast?!

All the luck in the world headed your way I hope you live close to the hospital, if you have to be there by 7 a.m.,especially since it probably means getting checked in and prepped, then waiting endlessly. I think hubbys appointment for his colonoscopy was at 9:30, and he got it done after noon. They overbook, then take emergency cases, so it just drags out forever. I hope they do better in the UK!

Thank you my darlings for your good wishes. No Piggles love, the hospital is about 40 minute drive, usually longer because of constant road works. I am to be there at 7 but knowing the National Health. I will not have my op until late afternoon!! Ha ha Bean hunny, no I won't have to think about that. Apparently I can sip water but that is all. From 12.00 midnight it is nil by mouth, a bit like the Gremlins LOL!!

At least you won't get stuck in traffic getting there for 7am?!
I'm sure it's very boring and frustrating waiting around for an op (and doesn't help if you're nervous!), especially if you can't eat or drink. But when you have an emergency, you're very glad to get to skip the queue!

No I won't Bean hunny, which is usually the case when I have to go there at any other time. There is always a chance that I will get there and my op be cancelled, but if there is an emergency, of course the other person comes first.

Bean's right about the traffic at that hour, and if you're getting an op, no need to look your best I hope your op doesn't get canceled, but if it does, at least you can figure you lost a few ounces or a pound while you were living on water! Best of luck!!!

Thank you my darlings, I am fine. I had my op at about 10.30 and was out of the hospital by 2.00. I am feeling remarkably well, not at all groggy and sore as they said I would. I am very pleased and thinking of all of you when I went into theatre, really helped. Thinking about my home and friends was a great comfort. I don't know about catering to my every need Bean love, but he hasn't been quite good LOL.
Hugs to you all.
Jo xx

So glad it went so smoothly, Jo! Can't believe you were out so soon, that must have been an unexpected but very welcome surprise! Bet all the furry gang gave you a good welcome home too.
Glad to hear that you're feeling okay, and not too sore - hope that continues. Have you got a little bell to ring when you need Paul to get something?!

Thank you my darlings and I must confess to feeling a bit sore today but it is only to be expected. I do feel a lot better though and I hope it continues. Having friends helps so much, thank you for all your kind words. Ha ha, I don't have a bell anymore actually hunny, I used to have a lovely crystal one which I could have used LOL!!

My mother-in-law had a bell collection. I wonder what happened to that? You can just sit in your chair or in your bed and say ding ding loudly Glad you are feeling a whole lot better

Hope you're a little less sore today, Jo? It would be amazing if you could get through it without feeling at all tender, but I guess a little bit of discomfort is unavoidable. Hope it's manageable for you.
My mum had an amazing wooden giraffe (George) which she brought back from Africa. He's really heavy and an amazing piece of carving. When we were kids, if we were ill, we'd take George upstairs with us and if we needed anything, we'd bang him on the floor three times and someone would come right up to see what you needed! It was one of those special little things that made being ill not quite so terrible! Not a great idea if you live in a flat though!
