It is a shame when a friendship ends like that Baz love and I too would have been hurt if he dropped me the way he has you. If life has taught me anything it is that same sex friends matter very much too and people forget all about their friends when a partner comes along, it is sad.

That's too bad about you and Eric, and too bad Eric couldn't find a balance, but it seems he made a choice, and I'm glad you got others to help finish the project. Yes, I remember the Y2K problem, and would love to see the short.
Do you watch PBS? Since their shows don't have adds, they end sometimes as much as 20 minutes before the house, and they show shorts during that period. It's been interesting to see some of the stars of the shorts, as they've appeared on some commercial TV shows. There's one I think called Google Eyes, that stars an actress who played a squintern on Bones. So shorts have quite an impact on careers and other producers ideas.

There's one I think called Google Eyes, that stars an actress who played a squintern on Bones. So shorts have quite an impact on careers and other producers ideas. I used to watch PBS, but I really don't watch much TV at all nowadays; I try to watch shorts on various filmmaking forums that I belong to; I've seen some intriguing stuff! The Y2K short is too big for me to upload, as it runs 35 minutes (a featurette, actually) but I would more than happy to send you a DVD copy. I could even throw in a copy of my horror feature if you'd like. (PM me an address and I can put one in the mail this weekend.) Regarding Erik, he was in the honeymoon stage of his relationship with that girl and it threw off everything in his life. I actually had HIS friends calling me up asking why they never see him anymore. He actually started dating her while we were in the middle of shooting Code of the Shoes and the result was that shooting went on a few more months longer than it should have. I asked him before we started our Y2K movie if he was still interested, because delays could not be tolerated because of the deadline- and he insisted he was onboard for it. I should not have listened.

Sadly, I don't have any way to play a DVD. We were talking about that the other day We gave our last DVD player to our daughter. I'll take a rain check, though, as we've been talking about getting one. Did Eric end up with that woman, or was it all for naught? Really sad if he got involved at the expense of all of his friends, and it didn't work out for him.

Really sad if he got involved at the expense of all of his friends, and it didn't work out for him. He dated her for a while, then ended up getting rid of her after she'd cheated on him. (or so I heard through the grapevine. He ended up with another woman who he may have married so she could stay in the country- he always had a white knight streak in him.) You floored me when you said you had no DVD player! I'm assuming your computer won't play one, either- my dad's computer doesn't, either. Well, if you do get one let me know and I'll rustle up a copy and send it your way.

You are right. There is one on the laptop! Duh! I was thinking about playing it on the big TV. I'll message you my address Thank you That's too bad about his white knight streak. A lot of heartache and disappointment with that streak.

There is something wrong with our DVD as the last time we tried to use it nothing happened. I have the one on my computer but I would rather watch things on the TV. I wish more men had a white knight streak Baz love, he sounds a really nice chap.

That's why I didn't think about the computer. We have the big TV and our easy chairs, and that's what I was considering. Big and comfy

I wish more men had a white knight streak Baz love, he sounds a really nice chap. He's a great guy, but his insistence bit him in the butt on a few occasions, like the ones I just mentioned. On one occasion he was entirely justified- we left a club late at night with a bunch of women (his future girlfriend among them) and he wanted us to walk out of our way to make sure they got to their cars safely. I had no issue with this, as it was 1 am in the city! There was no danger, but I'm all for this sort of thing. It's just when he started to think his woman couldn't survive without him that started to grate on my nerves. I'm sure there are women that are thrilled to be doted on, but I like 'em a little on the independent side myself.

Of course, 20 years later he's wearing his natural hair color (dark brown) and sports a goatee nowadays. I'm not certain because he wears a suit in all his pictures, but he may have put on a few pounds, too. duq.academia.edu/ErikGarrett

Thanks for that Baz love, he was certainly hot then but I suppose 20 years ago we were hotter than we are now, assuming we were in the first place Hugs J xx

I'm an independent one, which doesn't mean I don't like having nice things done for me periodically. I like doing nice things for my husband, too. But white knights need damsels in distress to save, and few damsels need saving on a regular basis. It becomes demeaning, after a while, as the implication is we always need a man to rescue us.
I wonder if he finally found a women who can regulate his white knight impulses, found a woman who truly wants to be taken care of all the time, or never found anyone who stayed with him for very long? I hope it's the first, as he sounds like a decent guy who just needed someone to rein him in a bit.

Of course, give me about 20 more years and I likely won't be, LOL! 3piggles, I don't know too much about Erik's spouse- all my information comes from a mutual friend, who suspects he may have married the woman to save her from deportation rather than out of love. Of course, they're still together and have two kids, so perhaps love sprung up eventually. At this stage in my life I don't want to sound like I'm spreading dirt; I'm ready to bury any hatchets. I'm currently in contact with his mother on FaceBook, who's another well-educated, interesting woman. (The whole family is, really.)

I think it is quite true Baz love, a lot of men seem to age really well. I can think of several but the one that comes to mind is the gorgeous Martin Kemp who used to be in the New Wave Group Spandau Ballet. I just don't know how he does it. I like being cared for Piggles and I don't think there is anything wrong with that, especially after my terrible first marriage where care and love just didn't exist.

Maybe the reason they got married doesn't matter. If he needed to be the white knight, that would certainly fit the bill. If she needed to be rescued from deportation, she was a damsel in distress. It also means she's a foreigner, who might have needed help and guidance with a lot of things. Governments don't make it easy for people who speak English as a second language, so it could be a great marriage. Different strokes for different folks I hope they are a happy family, whatever the reason

Ha ha, love it Baz hunni. The only song I ever liked was "She's always a woman to me." I used to be a fan about 35 years ago. In fact, I was the only person I knew who liked him. Then, I spent 9 years working at a place where I had to hear "Piano Man" almost every day so one day I just snapped and now I hate him with the white-hot intensity of a billion suns. I listen to the radio constantly, and one month I kept track of how many times I would hear a Billy Joel song while skipping around the stations- I heard about 100 songs! (Not 100 different songs, but about 6-8 songs played about 10 times each. Sickening!)
