Beats the view out of my window on this grey, rainy day!

Sorry the weather is so gloomy over there. I hope you get some nice sunshine soon The lawns are starting to look green, trees are blooming. Our Lilac bushes are blooming, so they survived the winter I'm hoping to see life in a few more plants, soon The sun is shining brightly, and all of my weather stations say it's raining? I really wonder about the digital world, sometimes. Maybe tomorrow and Friday, when it's raining, the weather stations will say it's sunny?

The sun is out today here but it can be deceptive. Once you get outside you realise it is nowhere near as warm and it looks. Haha, our weather forecasters often get it wrong too Piggles love.

It's supposed to heat up today, Jo! But I'm about to go out so will definitely take a nice thick jumper until it does!
The Tour de Yorkshire cycle race is starting today, so I'm glad we're not showing off our county as a grey, miserable place!

It was supposed to start raining with thunder storms overnight last night, but except for a lot of clouds, with only a bit of sun breaking through periodically, it hasn't rained, yet. Not sure if it's going to, butit's the thunder storms are the leading edge of a cold front that should make it a bit cooler tomorrow, and even cooler and gorgeous on Saturday. More rain Sunday. Despite our little ditty about April showers bringing May flowers, Mother Nature doesn't seem to have a good grasp of the months starting and ending dates, lol

Paul was hoping it was going to be what he calls a shorts day today. I don't know what the temperature is like but it looks really miserable. I heard that Bean love, that we were supposed to have a heatwave this weekend. I think Mother Nature was gone permanently on strike Piggles hunni; either that or she is completely confused. Paul says it is nice everywhere else in the country except here, which regrettably is usually the case.

I don't want a heat wave, but I don't like endlessly dark and miserable, either. People who suffer from depression need a lot of sunlight. I have my light bank on in the front hallway, so the plants get all the sun they need. I wish you had a light bank to brighten your world, Jo. Next Sunday is Mother's Day in the US. I'm not planning to go anywhere, as every place will be packed. If the weather is good, we'll probably get all the bulbs planted. That means hubby plants the plants, and I supervise I'm hoping a lot of bulbs will finally give some color and interest to the front garden, which just won't grow much. Bulbs, and the wildflower seeds we bought

Thank you Piggles darling, so do I but even on a sunny day like this, I feel unhappy. I hope you get some nice cards and gifts for Mother's Day. Ours was back in March I think.

It was lovely here yesterday, I enjoyed a few hours pootling around in the garden. The kids found a wasp starting to make a nest in their playhouse too. It was fascinating watching it go about its work, their nests are so pretty. We're about to replace the roof as it's rotten, so it wouldn't have been able to stay anyway, but we also don't really want a wasps' nest in the kids' playhouse! So we disturbed it before it spent too much time working, which we felt quite bad about - especially when we saw it flying round with paper in its mouth looking for the nest it had started!

Oh bless him Bean love, although I have to say that I do loathe wasps of any kind and wouldn't want a nest anywhere near me. Thanks for the photo sweetie. Now if it has been bees, I love bees.

Oh I spent half of yesterday opening the window to let bees out! They come in the back and then make their way to the living room and buzz around on the window looking for a way out! Anyway, they were all safely released!
We're having a barbecue today - looks like a scorcher!

Poor wasp. He'll have to find another place, preferrably in someone else's house We get wasps in the house, and have no idea how they get in. They can apparently get in through the tiniest opening, openings we can't even see. We haven't had too many around outside. I saw a couple of bumble bees, so need to have hubby get out the bird/bug bath, so I can get that going again. Don't want them getting dehydrated We've supposed to be having a fabulous week, not too hot, mostly sunny and mostly dry. I hope your bbq is great

Bees are adorable but not the brightest Bean hunni lol! I hope you enjoyed your barbeque. That is so sweet Piggles love, birdy and buggy bath. I bet it is common knowledge around the bumbler community that there is always a drink to be had at your house. Thank you for that.

I hope so, Jo I really want to get a bee house, and I should order it now, before it gets too far into the season. I just don't know where I'm going to put it? We're having a stretch of real May weather. It seems as if most of the weekly weather reports have been about below or above normal temps, for over a year. Kind of refreshing to have a stretch of nice, seasonable weather.

The new house was put together today. It's a color we don't have anywhere else in the neighborhood, so it really stands out. The two parts of the house are together, but there's still a lot to do before the owners can move in.

Cool! Is the next stage getting all the plumbing and electricity in? It must be so much faster a turnaround than building a house on site.
The barbie was great, thanks. We had all the family over and I made some burgers with basil, parmesan and garlic oil (kind of a slight pesto kick), sausages, different veg and pork skewers with a few different marinades (soy and ginger, satay and a smoky sauce) and some salads. My son created his own vegeburgers with kidney beans, breadcrumbs, egg and a variety of herbs and seasoning. He overdid one of the herbs but otherwise thought they were a hit! The only downside was that the bbq put out so much heat, so on top of it being a really hot day, it was rather balmy for the chef! But I only provided cover while my husband was eating the odd burger, so mainly not my problem!

I like that Piggles love, it would certainly suit me to live somewhere nice like that. I am glad you are enjoying the weather. Those burgers sound great Bean hunni, let me know next time you have a barbie lol! I hope Alex remembers what he put in his burgers for next time, the sound really nice too.
