That owl picture almost looked like a painting!
Also, I'm not sure what's going on in that last one, but I hope they're both okay!

Incredible photos! I love the tiger, the moose, and the owl. Agree---not sure what's happening in that last photo, but it doesn't look good!

More info from the page. Surely if you want your host alive, sitting on its face while it's flying can't help?! A few more!

The sleeping squirrel is close to my heart, as I do my best to keep them all fed and safe during the winter. I also love the photo of the deer relative jumping the abyss. Wow!

I don't think they're from this competition, but they're along a similar theme, so I thought I'd add these photos into this thread. I love the birdsong smoke rings (obviously not smoke!).

The birds in the second photo look like turtles trying to fly, and I love the owl-on-owl last photo I haven't seen the red winged black birds blowing smoke rings, but this morning a Flicker landed on the metal foil on the feeding station, and started drilling it like a woodpecker(which they are). What a noise. All to get my attention. I had put out the Oriole feeder, as I had that in the house, and apparently took too long to get dressed and out to do the rest of the feeding

Aw <3 They are adorable. I don't know enough about cameras, nor do I have the patients to get such a shot. I have to admire those who can!

Since we were discussing bird calls, I wanted to mention that the earlier post featuring the bird blowing "smoke rings" is actually a red-winged blackbird, if I'm not mistaken!

Good of them to have an accurately descriptive name! Striking birds.
We had some adorable play going on in the garden the other day. Three young squirrels were chasing each other around excitedly, frequently doing whatever the squirrel version of popcorning is. They'd stop for a few moments intermittently, and stand near each other taking turns leaping into the air on the spot, before tearing off again.
Then an adult magpie came along with its youngster, trying to get the youngster to follow it around and practise flying and landing. But the baby magpie was distracted by the squirrels and ended up joining in with them. It especially seemed to enjoy the part where they all stood together taking turns to jump into the air. I didn't get my camera out as I was too busy enjoying watching it!

If I had a penny for every great photo op I missed for lack of a camera or the brains to get it out of my pocket! Yes, Baz, that's a red winged black bird. We see it on the cold mornings, when they first arrive in our area. It does look as if he's blowing smoke rings Bean, that's why we have the feeding station, as much for our entertainment is for their food. Squirrels are obnoxious, but they totally have a cute side, and each clan is very different. When the white ears arrive in the feeding station, everyone stays out of the way. They chase each other around, fall over each other, run over other wildlife, etc. It's hilarious! There's one little red squirrel that tells them off, as if they care or pay any attention. They come, they make an entertaining mess, and they leave That episode in your garden sounds wonderful <3 Not wildlife, but nature. The first is my favorite track through the woods. The second is the morning sun through the smoke from the Nova Scotia wildfires.
