Hi just a very quick question. Do you reckon this would be too big to house 2 guinea pigs? Mweekie!

Nothings to big, that looks great. You could put so much stuff in there. Its a royale guinea palace <3 The ramp looks a bit steep though.

Lol thanks Sollyrules The ramp does look a bit of a problem, that is what I was thinking. That's why I asked Wheekers to help out Mweekie! EDIT - just been thinking (ouch no wonder my head hurts). I could put 2 ramps in and have a sort of shelf for the guinea pigs. 2 ramps would make it easier for the guinea pigs to get down to the floor. What do the rest of you think?

I think it looks fantastic Mweekie I think the ramp in the cage just now looks alright, though it is quite hard to see how steep it is from the picture If you did get this, then you could keep the ramp the same to start with and see how the guinea pigs manage with it. If they were having trouble then you could use your idea of the two ramps

I saw it on www.bunnybasics.net/ under hutches and cages. I really like it and my father said he would be able to make one costing much less than buying it - £215.00 (ouch)!!! I will let you know how steep the ramp is when my father has managed to put the actual shed up lol he still hasn't finished the roof on our house yet lol. So that should be within the next 3-6 weeks (hopefully). Mweekie!

Looks like a good design to work from, and not too complicated. And I'm sure your dad could make something similar for much less How nice of your dad to build it for you Good luck

Thanks Masher. Lol Mum practically fainted when I told her and Dad how much it would cost. Dad is great at building runs and stuff and he said the design would be fun to do and easy to make. I will be helping him of course as I love doing practical stuff like this as well, plus I'm saving all my cash to help with the cost of materials as well. Mweekie!

Cool, looks a bit like the hutch I'm getting for mine. No WAY can it be too big - the bigger the better, they'll LOVE it!! If you're building it yourself, a few suggestions: Use plastic instead of a wooden floor, or cover the wood with vinyl. Wooden cages get wrecked quickly if not protected from guinea pig urine. You could replace the ramp with a double ramp, and put some rails to stop them from falling (the bunnies pictured would be fine if they fell from there I think, but guinea pigs are smaller). Other than that, it looks fantastic. If you can build/make one like that, my guinea pigs will be jealous! ~cavyfan

Maybe you could fasten cubes up the side to stop them falling off
I'm getting that for my bunnies when we mopve house, I can't wait ;D

That is a great idea. Looks like there would be plenty of room for piggies to play and run.

what a brillo cage! for teh ramp, if you were to take off that one and expand it along a bit more teh graident will be less, then add some railings on the side os no one falls off, but other than that its great, get your dad to built 2! lol then i can steal one!

Thanks for all your ideas everyone. I have taken them all into account. Lol, Melza I don't think my dad will make you one...even if he does...the postage to NZ will be far too expensive lol. I will definately put some pictures up of the shed/caviary when my dad has managed to put the roof on the house lol. Mweekie!

i think the ramp might be just a tad to skinny. id put extra bedding under the ramp so if theres a fall it will be extra cushiny.

Thanks for the advice cavies4life. I will ask my Dad to make it slightly wider and will also put a barrier or something up so the guinea pigs wont fall off the edge. Mweekie!
