I don't know who told poms her pic was too big but I'm sure It was one of the mods. Maybe In future It would be better just to resize the pic for someone who has posted a pic too big and give them a short explanation. I'm sure this way people won't get offended. Here's the pic of the little thing. I don't know If It has a name. I don't usually bother with her pigs but this little one I pitty. He actually looks a lot bigger In this pic than he actually Is. In the pic my 3 year old his holding him and she has tiny hands so maybe It will give you more of an idea how small he actually Is, love him.

I was going to resize it but I noticed that it vanished. I usually resize mine to 450 pixels (and 300 for my website); sometimes I crop them first. Very cute little one.

Pauline I'm so glad he seems to be improving, and he couldn't have a more caring mum! Maybe for the pellets you could put them in a zip-lock bag and hit them with a sthingy to crush them into flakes? That way you don't have to fish them out. Also do you have a picture of him, I'd love to see him. Merry, its only the flakes he likes they are little green things. He wont eat any of the other things in the mix. I will stick with the flakes for the time being and sprinkle his recovery, well that is what i think it is, its dark brown or dark green i am not sure now lol. I sheded his carrots like skipperdoo suggested. I will try him with other things as the days go on. I am just so pleased that he is eating some thing on his own. And Jackie i can see some little poops. I never even thought of checking for his poops. I couldn't really see because he had to much hay in his cage. Today i cleaned his cage out and only put chippings in, so i could see his poops and there they were, only a few and very tiny. He is such a lovely thing, when i put him on the lawn and call him, he comes over to me. I don't know if it is my imagination, but he seems to be walking faster today. And another thing i noticed is twice today i walked to wards his cage and he ran to hide, i was as quite as a mouse. It makes me think that he cant be totally blind or am i wrong.I always sneak up on him to try and catch him eating, maybe its just shadows he can see.But up until now he never moved, i am just shocked that he ran. Yesterday i really thought he wouldn't make it through the weekend, but today things are really looking up. My Daughter always comes to the vets with me, but he looked so ill as soon as i got off the phone to the vet asking could i see a different one, i went by myself. I was given a ticket number 15, there were 14 before me and they all had dogs, some huge one's and i was so scared lol.I am so pleased that i didn't leave it until Monday. She clipped his teeth and i asked would it hurt, she said no. And in all fairness he didn't move. She told him to spit the bits out, but he didn't move a muscle, she then cleared his mouth out her self. She also give him another injection, she said it would help his appetite, i meant to ask what it was, but with all the talking i forgot. Sorry to go on so much, i am just so pleased with him and thank you all again.

Perhaps he heard you coming (or saw a shadow as you mentioned)? As he gets more nutriments in him, he may turn out to be a speed demon. Jasmine was constantly shrieking for any food (she had severe malnutrition) and in time, she got enough nutriments in her and then she took off literally. Yours may in time start doing laps. She does them non-stop for a while and then takes off again. The things that she loved was the Critical Care (anise version), Gerty Guinea mix (like your little one, she's a selective eater) and veggies, veggies, and more veggies. He does look like a himi I had here for a bit. Quite cute. How are his eyes? Can you see them spin or was the multi-direction of the eyes noticeable only to her? Does he spin at all or have a head tilt?

Awww bless him he's soo cute he don't run away from you like all Guinea pigs do to me. He just sits still and I can pick him up. I've never picked up a pig from It's cage because they scare me when they go nuts around the cage. If he wasn't so Ill, I wanted him.

He is precious. Thank you for putting a picture to his thread. I appreciate anyone who can post a picture (It took me months to figure it out!) I'm so glad you are giving this little guy a shot at surviving.

We really hope no one has hurt feelings especially when asking for help with a sick guinea pig. I know that everyone is trying to help especially Auntie Samnbud and Auntie Mgirl.

No I think poms was a bit embarrassed as she don't know samnbud and I thought It was a mod and went off on one and told her they should of done It for you being a mod. She knows how to resize pics e.t.c but It's awkward when your not uploading straight from your computer. She just took It back down then. No she's fine now we uncrossed our wires and I told her Samnbud wasn't being funny or anything!

Well tell her to put them back up! And she can send the url or what not to me and i would be happy to put them back up! Well she surely knows me now! By the way I saw a lovely piggy today at a pet store that looked just like her little orangey brown baby. I hope the sick baby gets better fast....to bad i can't help with the feedings!

Aww the improvements are so encouraging Pauline, I'm so relieved for you and baby. It sounds like the food he's been managing to eat is giving him some much needed energy and its great you can see poops. Usually if one of my piggies is poorly, I use newspaper and towels so its easier to monitor their output (wee's and poops).
Do you have any redigrass?, its a nice stronge smell, so he might like it.
I always hate having to put up with a room full of dogs at the vets. They should try and have a different waiting room for cats and smaller animals as they get so frightend of barking dogs.
You must be so pleased to see he's eating and even managing a run.

Samnbad, i was not offended i just thought oh heck what have i done now, i didn't want to get any one's back up. You have given me great advice and are very friendly, thank you. Skipperdoo, the powder stuff this vet gave me smells of aniseed. His eyes look fine to me, no different from any other red eye piggie. The vet said they go different ways, but i don't know what she is talking about, i didn't understand what she meant, they just look normal. He don't have any problem with his head, when i first got him he would hold it down and i think that was to do with him being weak. Jackie i have redigrass here, but the same as grass and hay, he gets trouble eating it. I cut it up in tiny bits and mix it with his food, but he takes very little. He seems to take his diced carrots and cucumber the best, he cant seem to grab his soft mix very well. I put chopped parsley in with his mix, most of it as been left. One good thing he has eaten all his flakes, if i only knew what they were. Josie i nearly forgot! Mgirl is my Daughter.

What about mixing some of the things that he can eat in with the soft mix to make it stiffer and easier to grasp? Just a thought.
