Thanks!
She likes to pose with her head tilted! I don't think I realized that til you said it, Kathy! Most of her pics are like that.
I checked her neck three times since my last post and still cannot find the shoulder/neck lump!
I spoke with the vet yesterday and she was also encouraged. Said it can takes chlor some time to penetrate the abscess wall and get to the pus. (I guess it wasn't a fatty lump after all.)
She said we can finish the chlor we have, about another week, and take her off. Being on it too long can also cause problems.
She said after a week or so from the time the ab's are stopped, if all is well, we can put her back in with Saige!
I'm hoping!

Sounds great! When my vet was telling me about Katie's surgery-site problem it kinda sounded like ones that you have been encountering. She said that sometimes an area will pop open or start oozing (like Katie's is now). What they could have done and can do is insert a drain but it'd still run into the problem for the first three days or so. She told me to just keep the area covered so Katie can't get at it and just use water and a wash cloth to gently clean (just lightly touch/press to clean rather than scrubbing) the area and to keep an eye on it. Today it looked fine.

Koko looks great I hope she can return soon to keep her buddy company. You've got to get a bumper sticker that says, "Ask me about my grandpiggy!"

Aww she is so sweet, and I'm so glad to hear some GOOD news! I hope this is really the end of it, and that re-introductions with Saige go well. All my fingers are crossed!

Today is exactly two months since Koko's surgery, although it seems so so much longer.
I called my original vet yesterday confessing to going to another vet who would prescribe the chlor. She seemed happy (and relieved) that I did so, and that Koko seems to be doing well!
She comes off the chlor tomorrow, and hopefully next week will be back with Saige!
Checking her charts, she has gained 7 ounces since her surgery!! She is only 1 pound 10 ounces, but compared to where she was, this is a miracle.
I know there'll be no guarantees abscesses won't come back, but for now, this is so exciting!
Thanks everyone!! Your kind words and encouragement made a world of difference, especially on the days I couldn't take it anymore.
So you don't always have to be physically present to help a piggy, your words helped Koko, and me.
Blessings!!

Thank you for your sweet comments! We are cautiously optimistic.
Koko and Saige got to 'play' together yesterday for the first time in over two months. We are going to let them see each other for an hour or so a day til next week when we try and put them back together in the cage.
Koko was sniffing Saige's butt continuously and they both seemed pretty happy and were popcorning all over. It was great to see them together again.

Hi, Janet, thanks for asking!!
Her appetite is really good, but I'm keeping an eye out for the possible coming off antibiotic effects. She had slightly wet misformed poops yesterday, but nothing I think to be concerned about. I figure it'll take some time to clear it out of her system and have her system used to being off them. She was on ab's for two straight months!
She is happy as can be, and she'll actually 'stop' and let me pet her. Of the 5 pigs, she is the most active and happiest.
Amazing miracle.
