Yes I've heard about Vedra. Let's hope that in the future there will be more vets interested in treating guinea pigs .

We had a member from Australia, who is now a vet somewhere in Australia. I have some Facebook friends from there, and one posts pictures of different parts of the country. Beautiful place

Yes it is very beautiful. I live on the Mid North Coast of NSW so we have beautiful weather all year round. Good for the piggies as it's never too hot or too cold.

It does seem strange to have my Australia and New Zealand friends talking about the cold of winter, when we're dying in the summer heat, and vice versa. I've seen a lot about both places, and they do look beautiful

I would love to visit Australia, one of the reasons being I believe they have some really super bugs. As you know I love buggies and the ones found in hot countries are really super. Borneo is another place that has some really great buggies but I know I will never get there.

I would love to go to the parts with no snakes, lol I find it interesting how similar houses in Australia are to those in the US. I guess it's the newness of the country, but I could definitely move from one country to the other with no problems.

I have heard and seen some pretty bad things about the conditions animals are kept in in China, it makes me so cross. The Phillippines is terrible too.

Budgies are very cute Jo, I've owned a few, they are adorable! As for the snakes I've spent hours walking through the bush with the kids in tow, and we go camping quite a lot, but I have never come across a snake. That's not to say they are not there though!
Personally I'm much more afraid of sharks. Shark attacks are becoming quite frequent here at the moment especially along the coast where I live. A friend of mine from school was attacked here while bodyboarding just recently. Thank goodness he survived.

Yikes! We've had more shark attacks off the US coasts, too. Just had one in Hawaii, where the victim lost a leg above the knee, due to the extent of the bite Some of our east coast beaches have banned swimming within a certain distance of the piers, because they thing the sharks are following the fish close to shore. I have no idea, only that shark bites seemed to be a weekly news item this summer.

Sorry Maximojo love, I meant buggies as in bugs but you are right, budgies are cute, I too have owned a few. Sharks alarm me too more than anything on land and it is a shame that they are being such sons of biscuit makers and preventing people from swimming by suddenly infesting the seas at a shallower level. I am glad your friend survived love, what a terrifying experience that must have been, how did he get away? Why can't they just be friendly and have cuddles as dolphins do LOL?!!

I'm living in Qingdao on the east coast of China, across the water from South Korea. shades, when I mentioned you were from China, my wife wanted to know where- she actually grew up in Qingdao between 1977-1984, and attended #17 High School.

Sorry I'm not actually much help, am I?

I think it's cool how people who come together for a totally differant reason, find they have such things in common. Shades and his wife may not be from Qingdao, but they're there, now. Your wife lived and went to school there, Baz. Yet years later, that connection is found through a guinea pig forum. Definitely cool Kimberly14, did you get the pouring rain that totally soaked the Miami Dolphins game last night? That storm made it up the coast, and almost to us, but just couldn't break through the snow storm Baz sent me
