A bird has built a nest above my front porch light! Although there are three baby birds that I can see, I was only able to capture a picture of one's tiny beak! I was able to catch a few pics of Mommy as well: This has happened before, and generally I try to dissuade birds from nesting on my porch- if I see a nest in the initial stages of building, I remove the twigs & branches. However, this bird must have been quick and built the nest over a weekend with not much mail, so I didn't catch it in time. By this time, I couldn't bring myself to wreck the nest, so I just dealt with having the mommy bird fly around the porch and tweet madly if I came outside to get the mail. No harm was done to any of the parties involved.

Oh that's adorable, definitely worth putting up with being chased away from collecting your mail for a while!
We had bluetits nesting in one of our bird boxes, but you're right in on the action here!

So vibrant! Unfortunately, over here the colors seem to be rather muted, so they are not as nearly as eye-catching as your pics.

We're a bit behind you with your colour changes, lovely photos. I had a little riverside walk, and liked the reflections of the trees on the water.

That's beautiful <3 I love water-reflected pictures. It adds a dimension

I can't wait to go on another one of my real vacations! But that won't be until March or April of next year, so for now everything is just practice! I REALLY dig this camera! I just wish I'd had it years ago for some of my other getaways. (The technology didn't exist yet, so no point yammering about it.)

I'm glad you're not only enjoying it, but spending more time with your friend, Ken, and just having some fun, some real away from all the problems time

I'm glad you're not only enjoying it, but spending more time with your friend, Ken, and just having some fun, some real away from all the problems time I got him hooked on ziplining, and next month he's taking a trip to the Caribbean and will zipline down there.

Closest thing to an aerial view without going up in a helicopter

I wasn't sure if this should go in the Abstract Photos thread, because it isn't a photo. This is my first attempt at Blender: No need to get too excited- just about everything was done by following the instructions to the letter. The only thing that was added in is that gold-colored cone. I threw it in there just to see if I could do it.

Looks great to me - especially the gold cone! And a doughnut's not too big a leap from a wooden hoop - it must feel good to be starting to produce things that look decent!

I wish I could take more credit for the images, but some of them were pre-created in advance by the teacher. All I did was apply the necessary filters to create the surfaces, like the glass. Still, at some point I'm going to try the donut tutorial again. I do want to learn a bit more and try some random creations before I go back to my earlier failures. It IS fun when things work out, though.

Yes, to have that feeling of 'Result!' rather than 'AAAARGH!' is a very good thing! And you'll be picking a lot up along the way, even if all those memes about Blender resonate for a while longer!
