thank you for sharing that page! I have been watching her for the past hour or so and she began secreting a little more liquid, but luckily I looked nearly identical to the picture on that site, same color, amount, and consistency. I gave her chest a good listen and she didn't have the slightest wheeze (plus I love how fuzzy and warm she is on my ear lol), but I am going to be carefully observing her for any other symptoms over the course of the day.
Thanks for the quick response and help!

Hello all! Here's a lil update from the realm of vanillapop More pictures of Cocoa Bean! I thought I'd pick pics that also introduced the rest of my lovely household, my husband Tom, lil baby Mia, and Stella the cat! This is Tom and Cocoa watching some TV late at night when he got home from work. You can see Cocoa has been caught orange-furred, as her guineapapa had given her a little carrot lovin [ Here is Cocoa with the only critter who gets more attention than her, lil Mia. Mia loves all the animals in the house, and she often fusses to be picked up and brought to Cocoa's cage when she hears her zooming around doing laps or wheeking for veggies! Quote from the husband: "When she gets old enough she's gonna start bringing animals home too. Between the two of you we're gonna have a whole zoo!" He likes to be the devil's advocate, but he always swiftly falls in love with the critters n.n And here is Stella the cat. She's 8 years old and thoroughly fascinated by Cocoa, as seen in this picture. She is very calm around her though, and merely sniffs her gently when we're all chillin on the couch n.n And so that's it for now! In other fun news, I may have found Cocoa her new cagemate!! I'll update you the minute it's a sure thing!~

Fingers crossed about a friend! You have quite a zoo there; and a very lovely daughter!!! Ha ha thank you! It used to be much much more of a zoo (hamsters, mice babies, several goldfish and koi tanks, cats and pit bulls and collies galore) but as they all depleted I tried to not restock so quickly, so that I might have more quality time with a few pets and my family, but now that my babe is growing bigger and more independent I have more time to start adding to the brood again

I finally found a nice little girl to be Cocoa Bean's new cagemate! I wanted to be as sure as possible that Cocoa's new buddy was a young and calm girl, so that Cocoa (who has a bit of a head tilt and some other issues that lead to her being picked on by other dominant sows in the past) could assume the role of alpha-gal without any huge disputes. I finally got a hold of a young female yesterday (my shelter has had nothing but bonded 'intact' boar pairs for months!) and she is probably about 2 months old, she is a very silky soft american/short coat piggy with red and white fur. I thought Cocoa was a chill piggy, but this girl make her look wired! She will just snuggle down and drift to sleep wherever I plop her half the time, and the other half she just gently sniffs around and patiently observes. I'm sure her piggy personality will become more evident as she gets used to us, but she seems to be a little guinea angel! And here she is: ^ notice the lazy little pink paw hanging off my hand lol We have decided on the name Apricot, because she is sweet and orange Cocoa and her had a good sniff through the cage bars today and they both seemed very curious and I couldn't find a lick of aggressive behavior out of Cocoa. They just sniffed and exchanged a few happy meeps, followed by Cocoa popcorning her head off around her cage. Can't want for the intro after quarantine is over!

Love the family pictures. You're daughter is adorable!!! I have a granddaughter about to turn 1. Woohoo!!!
Apricot may become more adventurous, or she may just be very socialized. If her former handlers handled her a lot, she is used to being with people. My Morty was like that, and still is. Mia is getting there. Momo will always be the hold out, lol!!!
Can't wait to see how they do together. It sounds as if Cocoa Bean can't wait to have a pal!!! Congrats on your new addition!!!

Thanks!! My lil Mia is 6 months right now, and it has completely flown by! It seems like just yesterday she was just a snuggly little warm sack of baby, sleeping most of the time, and now she's sitting up all by herself and getting In to whatever trouble is available within her arm's reach lol! It would be pretty sweet to have such a chill piggy as Morty, hopefully she'll follow in his footsteps! Although however she turns out I'm sure I'll see her as flawless anyway . And Cocoa does appear pretty enthusiastic to share her bungalo, she looked like she was investigating her cage after I put Apricot back in my spare as if she was hoping her new friend was just hiding in some corner of her home hee hee! I have their cages very close in the same room so they can at least hear each other for now, unfortunately a snug apartment makes a better arrangement a little challenging!

Thank you all! Apricot appreciates the greetings Cocoa and Apricot have had a few more good sniffs and it always results in promising looking behavior out of both of them. Myself and Tom enjoyed each having a lap piggy while watching tv last night, and they still appear happily curious about eachother. In due time lil piglets! Apricot is still settling in nicely, we are trying a few mild veggies with her but she isn't quite convinced yet. I'm sure when she sees Cocoa Bean wolfing them down she'll get the idea . I'll try and post a few new pictures of her soon!

Glad she is settling in. She will pick up Cocoa Beans traits, and try the veggies. Just give her time.
There must be some good shelters and rescues in Upstate NY. Are you thinking of adding my little piggies to your herd???

While we do have a good amount of shelters, the majority of them are solely dog and cat, but I just happen to work at a pet supply store than donates a chunk of floor space to a nice shelter every saturday, and they bring in animals for adoption. This specific shelter is one of the only ones around that accepts exotics, so I get a weekly update of what critters they have available! They usually have a bunch of rats and rabbits, but the do get the occasional piggies. And now that I have a pair I will probably stop looking as actively as I was when Cocoa was still by her lonesome, but (as I'm sure many of us on this forum experience) animals have a way of finding their way to my house lol. If another great guinea in need of a home finds me, the brood will surely grow

lil update from the world of Cocoa and Apricot! They are both doing swell, and seem to sense a change is in the air with the fellow pig about. Can't wait to see how they do together! Apricot (or Api for short!) is still as relaxed as when I brought her home, happily falling asleep pretty much wherever she is, and slowly getting more adventurous with veggies (I shared a little peas and carrots I steamed myself for lunch today, she was much more keen on them than the spinach I tried before!). And Cocoa certainly isn't old news, I have been giving her extra good measure cuddles and lap time, and she is happy as a clam as usual She's nearly twice the size of lil Api, they'll look so cute together when they are united! Also wanted to share a nice little photo shoot I had with Api today, she is a good little poser! And loves the attention n.n (I was gonna get some new ones of Cocoa Bean, but my real baby decided the furrbabies had their mommy time and pictures were cut short n.n)
