Sadly, like most other people, my quest for a PS5 was unsuccessful - a few websites collapsed under the strain of everyone trying to get one! Hey ho, there'll be more available at some point. Hopefully my son can keep hold of the money he's saved for it.
It's much easier when you and your partner agree on social mixing/ distancing etc. I think most of us have some differences in opinion with wider family and friends, but it'd be stressful if it were within your home. Good luck to that couple!

I hope he's not too disappointed. It does give him something to save for.
I think a couple, even if only engaged, but living together, is a family. That family comes first, unless there's an emergency. I have several gay/lesbian and married friends, and people say things like "It's not as if you're a real couple," when such a discussion arises. Small wonder they tend to have other gay/lesbians as friends. A whole lot less hassle. It just seems that, if he was willing to enter into an engagement and living situation with her, she comes first. If he goes to his parents for the holiday, she's home alone. That's not right. He needs to grow up.

I can't believe other people say a couple aren't a real couple because they're gay?! Well, maybe some people might say that, but certainly never friends. They should ditch those and move on!
I don't think that bloke will grown up - he's just probably expecting his future wife to take over from his mother looking after him! This is just the awkward handover period when his partner doesn't hold as much office - I'd probably just let him go back to mummy and stay there to be honest!

I would definitely let him go back to mummy, and stay. I think you're totally right, and hope she realizes it, before she has to divorce the useless twit!

3piggles talking about her plans for Thanksgiving dinner reminded me we had it, so I thought I'd make the effort!

Little Red, one of the little red squirrels who eat in our back yard. He's about 1/3 the size of a big grey.

Cute! His body shape is quite different to the ones we have, both grey and red (not that there are any red ones left round here).
A couple of mornings ago I saw a hedgehog crossing the lawn when I got up. It was still quite dark so I didn't think much of it, although know many have started to hibernate now. I didn't have my glasses on so couldn't really judge its size.
Yesterday afternoon my son spotted one trundling across the lawn, so I went out to check on it and it was so small - there's a certain weight they should be for hibernation and it was half that. It was really cold and didn't look too bright either, although still insanely cute. So we brought it inside with a towel, food and water (I had to go out and buy some cat food!). He's now gone, via a vet, hopefully to a hedgehog rescue to be fattened up ready to be released next year.

I'm glad you could catch him and get him the help he needed. It's hard trying to help wild animals, as they don't understand that a predator can also be a friend, or how to determine that. I think the gang in the backyard knows who we are, and that we're not going to hurt them, but they will usually stay a safe distance away. Little red, the other one with a lot of red on him, and Chip often go to the open shed door, or up to the screen door on the slider, to see if we'll give them some food. Even a big grey comes up on the back porch once in a while. They don't want to be petted or picked up, and we don't want to do that, either, so it's more about making me check that they have enough food. The only other thing I'd like to do is put out a length of PVC pipe with some openings in it. We had a piece outside the back door at the last house, and when a hawk landed right outside the door, all the little animals ran into the PVC pipe, and were safe. It's something we can put out now, and take it away in the spring.

Hedgehogs are pretty easy to catch as they don't move fast, and as soon as they sense you coming, they ball up (this one even gave me a hiss when I first approached). You just need to have your gardening gloves on for the spikes, but I've never seen one be aggressive, just defensive.
I had a dream last night that there were loads of baby hedgehogs roaming around our back garden - I was running out of places to keep them!
I have a bit of PVC pipe I use in the guinea pigs' run, and hadn't thought of leaving it out for wildlife, but it's a good idea - I'll move it later.

Poor little balls of prickles. I guess they aren't much of a threat to other animals, especially humans, so defense is the best option.
I'm not a dream interpreter, but it makes sense that you are concerned about their welfare, now that you've found one really underweight. Maybe there's a way to put food out for them that won't attract other animals like rats.
It's a good thing weather doesn't get rea6bad where you are. They shouldn't run out of shelter.

The weather gets bad enough that it'll kill off plenty of them if they're underweight or don't find a good place to hibernate. Because more people have really solid garden fencing, and new builds increases, it gets harder for them to move around and find the food and shelter they need. The hedgehog population is really struggling at the moment.
I pretty much always dream about whatever/ whoever I've been thinking about before I go to sleep, however mundane it is. Good reason not to watch any news before I pop off to sleep, especially if that orange monstrosity is featuring heavily!

The orange monstrosity is still taking up more than his share of the news. I think he feels left out, not being the big deal anymore. He's trying to make news by announcing obvious things. I cannot wait for him to be out of the white house, and off my TV! I rarely dream. I used to dream all the time, but haven't in years. I do once in a while, so I tend to remember that I dreamed, because it's unusual. That's sad about the hedgehog population. People think about what they want, and not about the consequences to building and the habitats of all the animals When those animals are gone, the people will be sad. Otherwise, the animals will move into the yards of those people, and the people will get totally freaked out about it, and insist the animals be moved to someplace where they can't bother humans. Sigh I'm glad you could help that little one

I cannot wait for him to be out of the white house, and off my TV! He's becoming more and more irrelevant by the day as Biden slowly takes over. In 51 days he won't matter at all, and the only news we'll hear about him is the avalanche of indictments/lawsuits smothering him. He won't be an issue in 2024. Heck, he won't be an issue in 2021!

Sorry he's still getting attention over there. We're not hearing much about him over here at all, it's great. We heard all the fractured foot Biden sustained playing with his rescue dog though!

His latest idiocies are that he plans to pardon all of his family members, before they're charged with any crimes. Apparently it's legal, but rarely used, and mostly for black ops personnel.
Also, he's insisting the Attorney General, who was appointed by him, failed to consider any of the evidence his legal team collected proving voter fraud. Of course, the AG considered all evidence, and his alleged evidence isn't evidence at all, but a scheme by him to not have to concede the race.
Legally, the loser does not have to concede to the winner. It's considered good form, of which he's never shown any, so it's not surprising he is making up fake allegations, all so he doesn't have to say he legally lost the election.
Now to see if he pardons himself, which I think is illegal, and will just get him in more legal trouble, once he's out of the white house.
In other news, a republican state official, I didn't catch his job title, but he's involved in the vote counting, publicly, on TV, told Trump to stop the false allegations of election fraud that are dividing the country and causing election workers to be physically threatened by email, social media, mail, etc., and concede the race to Biden. He said the country has suffered enough, and needs to start healing. He pointed out that vote counters have counted and recounted, and all because of the allegation that they didn't want him to win. Before, Mitt Romney, (R) senator from Utah, was the only elected republican who ever spoke out against Trump. That's changing.

Now to see if he pardons himself, which I think is illegal, and will just get him in more legal trouble, once he's out of the white house. None of that is going to work, as he can't pardon state charges... and there are many against him (and his family) Also, a pardon is an admission of guilt if the person in question accepts it, so that will open up another can of worms. A pre-emptive pardon is unlikely to hold up in court, so expect his kids to be joining him in prison next year. tRump has committed so many crimes, it's going to be impossible for him to be able to pardon himself for ALL of them, especially state charges!

That's what amazes me. For four years he's claimed everything they all did was totally legal, so why would they need pardons???
